Acropolis Now !
Soon the rest of the Acropolis Museum the dramatic and modern new one, will open (the ground floor – but a small part of it – already has opened its doors), when may be the subject of bookie’s odds in London and betting dens in Las Vegas.
Britain’s Spectator magazine has written about it … read it here >

American visitors to Greece – driving and enjoying it
If you hold an American driving license and are visiting Greece, renting a car is a great way (not surprisingly) to see the country, the real down-home countryside, the villages, the cute and fascinating places.
But. Yes, but!
You should obtain an international driving permit – get one at AAA (“triple A” ) > http://www.aaa.com
It’s easy, cheap and it is (technically) required.
Also if driving – be more relaxed, be prepared and become (very quickly) familiar with some basic ways of driving here that will help you relax, fit in and enjoy it (these apply all over Greece even though written originally for the big island of Crete > http://www.cretetravel.com/Driving_in_Crete.htm
(There is also some good information on our very own car rental site www.crete-car-rental.com and you can inquire about your car AND ask questions about the routes, roads and places you are planning to visit )
British Weather – should be good…but for how long?
Just a note to remind you that a few days of good weather in the south of England, after the recent bank holiday weekend, may be misleading!
To be sure to “stock up” with inspiration, traveller’s tales, great experiences and last but not least SUNSHINE, there are still a couple of months for that visit to Greece! (Probably more as sunny weather is not a rare sight in southern parts of the country during the winter)
Temped? Want to be informed? Here’s the place… http://www.SuperbGreece.com and look at “INFORMATION : Our Travel Guides” – it’s a good and helpful place to start. Wait, there’s more – you can always ask any questions you may have and know you will receive informed, helpful answers
Just curious about the weather? Check it out and read about it > http://www.cretetravel.com/weather_Crete.htm
UK rain and national holiday means Greece is the temptress
Have a happy holiday our UK friends and acquaintances – but if after the 25th August weekend you feel rain is more likely than custard, wet roads more frequent than soggy vegetables, water droplets sneaking their way down your neck as you sprint from car to club or pub…Greece has at least two more months of good enjoyable, friendly, warming weather to offer you.
Guinness may be good for you, and Cadbury’s chocolate may melt when you leave a bar on the seat in your car – but Greece is happiness when you stay in just the right place!
Crete, Santorini and the Peloponnese for a real dynamic, rejuvenating trip – some good sun and far fewer crowds.
So September and October still offer summer fun – romance and reward, splendid meals, friendly welcomes and gorgeous scenery.
