April Luxury:

For those who are happy to pay for “better than the best” the new Villa San Serife is just the thing.

Situated on a peak of a mountain range in Crete – the building of the villa is a feat of magnificent engineering, as winds can be up to 70 kilometres per hour most days. The anchoring of an enormous estate on the tip-top of a rocky mountain peak is a significant engineering advance.

Because of the villa’s location, views really are panoramic and a full 360 degree view from the circumferential terrace is magnificent. There is no interruption of the view as the villa is reached via an elevator in the centre of the structure (inside the mountain), that rises 2200 metres from the plateau entrance way below.

Offering 22 bedrooms, every bedroom offering Jacuzzi, spa facilities, a 58 inch molten plasma TV screen, emperor size beds, wet bar, dry bar, exercise bar, computer, fax, telex, 9-line telephone system, secretary, interpreter; there are 4 kitchens, a 22 car garage (at plateau level), in-house butler and valet. There are 3 swimming pools (one indoors, one on the terrace area, one on the rooftop). The terraces are “sprayed” with oxygen continuously to avoid any deleterious effects of altitude.

The library with over 75,231 rare collectors’ editions has multi-screen Internet facilities with the newest askgoohoo retrieval systems.
There are 6 entertainment and living areas; 2 cinemas each seating 480 people.

24 Hour services include: on-a-whim gourmet meals cooked by any one of the 4 international award-winning chefs on hand (all tempted away from multi star Michelin-awarded establishments); helicopter on call for visits to cafes and beaches; massage and spa treatments (including the legendary marmalade rejuvenating wrap); 1972 channel satellite TV; WiFI, MiFI,HiFi and the newest MegaXiZi systems. A library of 97000 DVD movies is available and ever-updated. Music – any song from any country, any time, anywhere.

The total area of the villa is 8,713 square metres.

Only available for rental up until noon on 1st April 2008.

Price – are you sitting down – 6981003 Swiss Francs per half day. Loans (we hear) can be readily obtained from several investment banks, with no credit qualification required whatsoever.

Extra! – Status: Not available – fully booked for 2008

The Peloponnese – including the beautiful town of Nafplio, the ancient castle village of Monemvasia, Githio the southern port, Patra the gatweway from Italy and central Greece, Kalamata, Karamyli, Vitilo, Limeni, Areopoli, Gerolimenos and Arkadia (Ellinikon, Stemnitsa, Dimitsana) are still as beautiful as you would wish.

The fires of 2007 have left some scars, but the visual impact and beauty of the mountains, hillsides and surrounds (even of Ancient Olympia) are still soothing and breathtaking simultaneously.

This really is an area to visit, to tour and to enjoy.

Having seen how good it all looks, there will be more new selections of magical, wonderful small hotels to stay at in the Peloponnese on www.SuperbGreece.com from this coming January.

So, after the delights of Christmas, the celebrations and invigorating promise of the New Year…start planning your Peloponnese Odyssey – the Superb way to a superb stay !

The long walk – that popular gorge – the Samaria gorge in Crete (said to the the longest in Europe) will present its dramatic slot in the world, its rare plants and wildlife for enjoyment – opening estimated by 20th of April 2007. Note: Opening times are subject to change if harsh weather causes rockfalls or excess water run-off before that day.

A new gourmet restaurant – with lush tech modern design – has opened in Heraklion, Crete on Epimenidou Street http://www.brillantrestaurant.gr/ – looks like it may well be worth staying at the hotel which houses it, just to try the restaurant in a relaxed manner – if this is a tempting idea, have a look http://www.crete-hotels-rooms.com/Reservations/Lato_Hotel.htm

New hitech walkman-sized units will gradually be introduced for rental at major Archaeological sites and museums in Greece. They will be programmed with information, touch technology and generally provide a guided and enhanced visitor appreciation. We will be on the lookout for specifics and updates on this great step forward.

The new flavours of hotels in Athens are smaller, intimate, chic, romantic, smart but friendly.

SuperbGreece.com has offered Fresh hotel for some time and it is still a new and yes, fresh face in the field of good choices.

Two hotels added for your stay this year are:

-the chic, stylish and woop-modern-classy Ochre and Brown hotel near Monasteraki (buy those leather jackets, true bric a brac, stroll the new pedestrian walkway around the acropolis and go shopping, if you can prize yourself away from Ochre and Brown’s smart and mouthwatering, intimate restaurant).

-the sauve and dashing intimate club-like atmosphere on offer at Hera Hotel – on the south side of the Acropolis – one and a half minutes walk from the metro and from the soon to be new Acropolis museum (end of 2007 perhaps), and 5 minutes from the Acropolis, ten from Plaka and the shops of Ermou and the Parliament (Syntagma) Square…charming, friendly and smart rooms and suites, rooftop terrace views and bright airy breakfast room with real dog-gone-fresh buffet breakfasts

Both are chic (very – Ochre and Brown, somewhat – Hera) and intimate (both very) and stylish (both) and accessible to the centre (walking distance).

Well if you want to see more, get more info, get advice, get a personal recommendation for Your own likes and preferences to be sure you have the greatest time in Athens, head on over to your browser and join:
