1. Walking to Vrontissi Monastery
An easy walk with start from Eleonas Country Village , walking amongst ancient olive trees and carob trees until the Monastery Vrodissi , The Monastery is dedicated Saint Antony and is the one of the oldest monasteries in Crete. On the way back the smell of sage and thyme and the panoramic view make the walk very beautiful.

2. Walking to Ancient olive tree.
A nice walk with start point from the village Panagia ,on the way we pass from 3 old villages and amongst olive groves , with main attraction the ancient olive tree of 3000 years old . At the first village of Panagia nowadays only 3-4 people still live there , the next village we pass is Paliama , the village was abandoned and the only building still survive is the Church . The village Fari is almost at the end of the route and is also abandoned with the church and some houses still survive used from the local farmers .

3. Walk to the village Drosoi -Agia Anna
A walking amongst the village of Zaros and then the olive grove area until the abandoned village Drossoi , ( there is tap water). The way back is also amongst the olive groves until the lake of Zaros ,where you can a stop for a drink , the route is nice and easy .

4. Mountain Walk along Rouvas Gorge -forest
The gorge of Rouvas or Agios Nikolaos or Gafaris , is the most important gorge of Psiloritis and central Crete. This is an ecosystem with rich flora and fauna, smaller canyons and interesting geological formations and cliffs of rare beauty. It has a total length of 4, km one way from start point at eleonas country village . the walk is along the river bed, which has a lot of water on spring and several waterfalls and ponds are formed. On the way we pass a wooden bridge and continue in lush green gorge until we reach the heart of the Rouvas forest and the church of Agios Ioannis (St. John) . The forest of Rouvas, is an important ecosystem of holly trees of national interest. The forest area covers about 30,000 acres. The rarity of the forest of Rouvas is related to the fact that holly trees escaped from the bushy typical shape and size and acquired characteristics and sizes different from those used in Greece. At St. John there is the homonym old chapel and the surrounding prairie is ideal for picnic and resting. From St. John you have to walk the same way back.

5. Walk to the Cave hermitage of st Efthimios and the village
Nivritos We start from eleonas country village toward the Votomos lake of zaros and then follow the yellow arrows until the Cave hermitage of st Efthimios. Inside the cavernous church there are some frescoes and there is a rock-carving with the number 1432, but it is not probably a date, as dates in that time were written with letters. According to tradition, Saint Efthimios was mistakenly killed by a hunter, when the nuns of the monastery of Saint Nikolaos saw him wandering in the gardens dressed like an animal. The outdoor area of Cave hermitage of st Efthimios is perfect view point. After we take the way back and turn left to visit the village Nivritos , is a traditional village with small streets and nice church on top village with nice view , you can make a stop at small coffee shop in middle of the village where the local goes. Make a stop Enjoy a nice mountain tea or coffee .

6 . Walk to Samari Shelter
There are 2 ways to do this route , a. From eleonas country village to Samari Shelter with total duration 26 km or b. Drive to the Monastery Vrodissi and start for walking to Samari Shelter with total duration 19.60 km. Is a long walk among meanly at forest of pines trees until the shelter of Samari , in this location the view is just amazing.
