Lessons take place at one of the best restaurants in Rethymno, which is certified by the "Agronutritional Cooperation of Crete" with the quality label "Cretan Cuisine" and is awarded a golden distinction for its wine list by "Vinetum".

Cook and eat delicious food prepared using the freshest local ingredients. Take home recipes for classic Cretan and Greek dishes.  

In addition, join one of our "Wine and Food Tastings" in order to taste and discover some of the best Greek wines.

Cooking Lessons

During these cooking courses of three to five sessions, you will have a great chance to explore the present modern and creative greek gastronomy.

The courses include : 
- short lectures on greek cuisine & raw materials
- practice on cooking greek food specialties
- lectures and practice on how to combine food with the right wine.

Each participant in the cooking course will receive:

- Mineral water, soft drinks, Raki,  or a glass of wine
- A folder (with note-taking material) including the recipes we will prepare, and a general overview of the Cretan diet, olive oil, and wine.
- All of the dishes created throughout the lesson will be consumed together at Veneto Restaurant.

The lunch will include 2 appetizers, 1 salad, 1 main dish, 1 dessert, mineral water, and soft drinks. Wine and other alcoholic drinks are available with extra charge

Listed below is the pricing for our cooking courses (according to group size):

Wine and food tastings – Wine seminars (6-20 persons)

Tasting 1 (for groups of 6 -20 persons) : 

- A personalized folder with general information on Greek wines (with a focus on the history of Greek wine).
- A detailed presentation of the wines to be tasted with an emphasis on their individual characteristics by our Sommelier.
- Variety of wines to be tasted (1 white, 1 rose, 1 red) accompanied by the appropriate cheese and rusks.
- Visit a 15th-century stone-built cellar.

Tasting 2 (for groups of 6 -20 persons) : 

- A personalized folder with general information on Greek wines (with a focus on the history of Greek wine).
- A detailed presentation of the wines to be tasted with an emphasis on their individual characteristics by our Sommelier.
- Variety of wines to be tasted (2 white, 1 rose, 2 red, and 1 dessert wine) accompanied by the appropriate cheese and rusks.
- Visit a 15th-century stone-built cellar.

Tasting 3 (for groups of 6 -20 persons) : 

- Introduction to the grape varieties and wines of Greece. Each participant receives a personalized folder with information on Greek wines generally (with references to the history of Greek wine).
- A detailed presentation of the wines to be tasted with an emphasis on their individual characteristics by our Sommelier.
- Lecture on “The ideal food and wine combination”.
- Variety of wines to be tasted (2 white, 1 rose, 2 red, and 1 dessert wine) accompanied by 4 complimenting Cretan dishes (one for every kind of wine-white, rose, red and dessert wine).
- Visit a 15th-century stone-built cellar.

Tasting 4 (for groups of 6 -20 persons) : 

- Introduction to the grape varieties and wines of Greece. Each participant receives a personalized folder with information on Greek wines generally (with references to the history of Greek wine).
- A detailed presentation of the wines to be tasted with an emphasis on their individual characteristics by our Sommelier.
- Lecture on “The ideal food and wine combination”
- Variety of wines to be tasted (2 white, 1 rose, 2 red, and 1 dessert wine) accompanied by 6 complimenting Cretan dishes (one for every wine tasted)
- Visit a 15th-century stone-built cellar.
