Porto Veneziano is one of the 100 first hotels has been adopted the Official Greek Breakfast, a campaign from the Ministry of Tourism. That means that the hotel uses local suppliers, presents local dishes, delicacies and recipes, has fresh local produce (fruit, veggies, cheese, cold cuts etc).

Served in a delightful little dining room, whose large windows offer striking views over the harbour, breakfast is fabulous. There is fresh orange juice, a good coffee selection and alongside all the usual hot dishes, there are plenty of cold cuts (and even some smoked salmon), but also a good selection of Cretan specialities, including Mizithra (goat’s cheese) Sfakian pies and custard-filled pastry pie, Bougatsa.

In addition there is a bar for drinks and light snacks.

As the hotel is located at Chania's Venetian harbour, there are many eating options around.

The best places are hidden up small streets in the city. Guests have to choose between many taverns-restaurants that offer differents cuisine. 

Next to the hotel there are two fish taverns, both are good and the fish they serve is always fresh. 

Chrisostomos is an excellent place if you would like to sample well cooked Cretan food and drink. Starters are great and main dishes are really excellent.
