AEGEAN received the Fast Travel Gold Award from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its innovative and flexible solutions to simplify and speed up the passenger experience. AEGEAN is the 11th airline in Europe to receive the Gold Award.

IATA’s Fast Travel Program addresses passenger demands for more choice, convenience, and control through self-service options in the areas of: self-check-in (including automatic check-in); bags ready-to-go; document check; flight re-booking; self-boarding; and bag recovery. The program vision is that by 2020, 80% of global passengers will be offered a complete range of relevant Self-Service options throughout their journey to provide better convenience and reduce queues.

AEGEAN fulfills all six initiatives of IATA’s Fast Travel Program and offers passengers departing from Athens International Airport, London Heathrow, and Frankfurt airport Self Service Check-in (all options), Self-Rebooking, Bag Recovery, Bags Ready to Go (Self Baggage Tagging and drop off dedicated positons), Self-Scanning at boarding gates, and the use of the Automated Documents Check.
