In the center of this rebuilt village at Kapetania Village part of Thalori Traditional Village (is a complex of fifteen traditional houses which were restored to reflect the particular style of this picturesque village) a great eatery with Cretan and Greek food a must-visit.

Thalori's Tavern - Restaurant building was constructed from stone and wood on two levels. It features large fireplaces, in both the tavern and the restaurant, while imposing windows offer panoramic views to the Libyan Seas.

Purely Cretan, the culinary adventure at Thalori is no less magical than hiking the gorges and exploring nearby caves is.

The traditional decor includes handmade olive-wood lighting fixtures, local furniture .... a great find.

In case that you stay in Thalori, you can start your day with the traditional breakfast made from fresh, local products (e.g. traditional bread, honey, eggs, local pancakes, cheese, yogurt, and fresh milk.) from 8:30 - 10:30.

And surely then you would not like to miss any of the meals (lunch & dinner) that are served in Thalori. 

Thalori's cuisine relies on the Cretan Diet which is recognized and famous around the world, using only pure, local ingredients cook them with due respect for tradition and hygiene.

Special emphasis is given on the experience of taste and the variety of healthy dishes. With this in mind, we have organized menus for lunch (noon) and dinner (evening).

Enjoy a Cretan salad with a variety of cheeses made from goats and sheep milk, boiled fresh beans, zucchini, eggplant, and potatoes with olive oil and lemon. The vegetables come from Thalori's own garden or are bought, but they are always organic. The red wine is a blend of Syrah and Kotsifali grapes and is produced at an organic farm. Markos, the owner, also produces his own red wine.

The service (mostly by one of the owners) is very friendly and efficient. The food is genuine, hearty, and tasty and is great value for your money.
