Spring Showers, Euro-labour Day and the Best of May

First day of May - now is a fine time to be in Crete - yes there are spring showers today and there is a background roar of thunder as I write, but wildflowers are blooming with abandon and it’s a good time to breath deeply of the fine fresh air that nourishes the island.

First day of May - it is also labour day in Europe - so in Greece you can eat in restaurants, sip cof- fees in cafes and bite into dainty pastries, but you cannot shop!

In northern Europe and many other delightful points upon the globe, this weekend is Easter.

A chance to relax, visit family, meet your lover, visit a loved one, go to a church (even enter and say a few words) - whatever Easter is to you, yes it has become a holiday for all, enjoy it or be rewarded by it.
