A guided tour to enjoy traditional dishes while immersing yourself in the history of the city accompanied by your local guide.
Your local guide will meet you in the Old town or at your nearby hotel and take you for that essential eye-opener, Greek Coffee, at one of the landmarks traditional coffee places (kafenion) of the Chania's old town.
You will get an explanation of the role of food in Cretan life, and of the eating habits of the Cretans in particular.
Next, it's a treat of bougatsa, a traditional cream-filled phyllo treat, served in a historical place, a building that dates back to the Venetian time.
Remember to pace yourself – there are several more food stops to follow!
Time for the authentic souvlaki at a particular grill spot before heading into traditional spices places with a variety of local condiments and herbs.
Find out how these items are used in Greek cooking while you browse the shelves for exotic cooking ingredients.
The last stop of the tour is for a selection of scrumptious Cretan Meze (like tapas, only better!!).
Here you will be able to try classic appetizers, a variety of local cheeses, olives, dakos, cured meat, and traditional dishes.

Kalimera Yiannis, Our tour was fantastic. We enjoyed our guide Roussos. The Pallada Olive Mill tour was very good. Loved to be able to taste the different olive oils and learn about the processs of milling the oil. Rousso gave us so much information, the history and taste of Chania. He was a great guide and we learned so much with him. He is very personable. Fantastic tour and I appreciated your help arranging it. Everything worked out very well. Cherie

Good morning! We loved it! And.. was more than I expected.. from the history to the many wonderful dishes and even, yes.. the raki! The only thing that I might suggest would be the portions... they were more than ample for us.. we were stuffed! But then... some tourists might be able to eat all of the many dishes! Note: This was totally our fault.. but we missed our cruise departure as I had thought it was midnight rather than noon! We flew out later than afternoon and into Malta before out ship arrived. BUT... we would not have changed a thing and were happy we missed it to have had such a great tour of Chania! Thank you very much!! Best,

It was a great experience with our expert guide! A semi-private tour wich felt you are traveling with friends, not with a guide. And greatly appreciated that no one force you, that you have to buy something during the tour. Well done!
