 Dear Yiannis!
Lovely Crete! We long for the friendly temperatures, that feels like a warm embrace. We miss the scent of wild herbs, that welcome us as soon as we arrive. We dream of the beautiful nature: From Lefka Ori to the Mediterranean Sea, from the Samaria Gorge to Loutro. We love the culture, the antique as well as today's gifted artist. But most of all we adore the people of Crete. Our dear friends. We left our hearts with you, and we hope to see you again very soon.
- Jan

Your offer to refund us the money during this challenging period of Covid-19, made us customers for life. We will always use your services and www.cretetravel.com when we travel to Crete. We appreciate it very much since this was agaiinst your normal business practises and villa cancellation policy. Once again very many thanks and wishing you all the best for the future.
- Simone

Hello Yiannis, Thank you for your email. We had a wonderful time in Crete, and already miss it a lot. Everything went as well, if not better, than we expected. I don't really have any comments to make about the Villa. It's situation is amazing, the pool was beautiful and most things were perfect. If I was to make some small suggestions, then perhaps a little art on the walls would be good to make it a little warmer in feeling. Some of the outside furniture also cannot withstand the summer meltemi! Our underpowered hire car struggled with the rough road down to the villa, and you might like to inform future guests that this section is off-road, since most hire car agencies don't technically allow you to drive on this sort of surface. Other than this, it was all good - so many nice beaches and tavernas nearby, while Spili and Agia Galini were quiet and charming. We will definitely return to Greece and/or Crete and will get in touch when we do! Kind regards
- Simon

Hi! Τhe stay in pantelisa apartments was great except the air conditioning. I couldn't turn on the machine because the smell was so bad. But the location, service and food was amazing :) Thank you for the reservation.Best,
- Semin

Hi! Thank you for your message! We had a great trip to Crete and especially the hike in Samaria Gorge was an enjoyable experience. Everything went well during our hike. Most importantly l would like to thank our quides who took good care of our group and kept us very well informed. The hike itself was incredibly beautiful.  Thank you! Best regards,
- Emmi

Dear Yiannis, Thank you for getting in touch to see if all went well; in fact, everything that you arranged was excellent: the Lato Boutique Hotel, Car Rental in Crete, Stella's Traditional Apartments.
What was most pleasant was that the gentleman at Green Motion (who'd been to school with you? played football with you?) and Stella, who was delightful, both spoke so warmly about you!
We'd also like to recommend the Hippokampos restaurant in Heraklion, which serve wonderful seafood.
- Philip

Dear Yiannis, I was completely satisfied with the Samaria Small Group Tour, everything was how I expected to be. I really liked that you provided the walking poles and helmets, perhaps you should mention in the description of the tour that they are provided. It would make me even more certain that this was the right trip for me.
Thanks again to you and to our guide - I think it was Sonia if I remember correctly.
- Gašper

Hello! Thank you the sailing experience was great!!! Well organized, beautiful place and the food was absolutely stunning! Thanks a lot
- Randa

Kalimera Yiannis, it was a fantastic holiday: nice place, house, car, people and blue sky every 3 weeks! All in one great! We are sure, that we will come back to you J. All the best and kind regards from Germany
- Bettina

Kalimera Yianni, Apologies for the delayed response. The group had a fantastic time despite all the last minute changes.  They enjoyed Koronekes and all purchased goodies.
Thank you for all the flexibility with the transfers and chopping and changing.  Everything worked out a treat and look forward to working with you again in the future. All the best,
- Phillip

Hello Yiannis, The "Samaria Small Group Tour" was fantastic! Though tiring,  the awesome scenery makes it totally worth it. Sophia is a wonderful guide, giving very clear instructions and guidance, always so obliging in answering all questions. Our family enjoyed it thoroughly. A day well spent! Thank you for all your liaison and arrangement too, Yiannis! Thanks and best regards,
- Pei Juin

Dear Yiannis,  Just wanted to write to thank you for our wonderful week in Thalori.  The welcome we received was lovely and service throughout the week was excellent. The food and wine was beautiful.  We appreciated the kindness of sweet treats and raki.  It was very hard to leave, we really didn't want to go!
Already thinking of our next trip.
Kind regards,
- C & D

Hi Yiannis, We had a fantastic stay with a very friendly family. The house at Natalias Houses fully lived up to our expectations. We are very very sorry with the misunderstanding. We thought that total amount was paid from credit card just like the deposit. I will immediately wire the rest amount to Natalias Houses. Again we are so sorry.
- Mikkel

Kalisera Yiannis,
We really enjoyed staying at the Porto Veneziano in Chania. The room was a wee bit small but we made it work, the people were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. It was cold and windy so we didn't explore a whole lot but that was ok. We had a delicious meal at Salis Restauant (?). Not sure that I spelled in correctly but it was wonderful. Just down the street from the Porto.
We would like to return to Crete and explore more of the island and get in some hiking, swimming, golf, and maybe some snorkeling. We try to avoid lots of people so maybe May or in the Fall. Any suggestions for a good time of year? We're looking at next year sometime. Maybe stay in the 3 main parts of the island for about 6 days each, or stay in Heraklion and venture out on day trips.
We are so glad we chose to visit Crete. It felt like a very good place to me.
Thank you, Yiannis.
- Susan

"Hi Yiannis, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you! My mom and I had a wonderful time at the ceramic workshop -- Aris and Ema were so friendly and we enjoyed learning the history of pottery as well as learning at the wheel from Aris. We made a few items and they will ship them to us in the states so we look forward to seeing our creations in person. Overall, the experience was better than we expected and would highly recommend for others interested. Thank you for checking in!"
- Hannah

It was excellent. My daughter Stavroula, who loves Greek mythology, had a great time and learned a lot.  Kalia was very patient, detailed and knowledgeable. Only issue which was not Kalia's fault was that it was a long day for the kids between knossos and the museum. And even with the long day, the girls were still engaged in what Kalia was saying. I already told Kalia that I am planning to go on trip advisor when I return to the states to give her and your company an excellent review.  Thank you for a wonderful experience
Just one more thing to add.....I contacted 3 companies looking for a tour guide. You were the first to reply and the most responsive. One of the companies responded to my email at 9pm and the other never responded. You are doing things the right way and that is something people will and do appreciate.
- Nick

Kalimera Yiannis We had a wonderful time driving around Crete- the itinerary worked really well and we saw some great sites - Gournia, Phaistos, Zakros - as well as the small villages and fantastic coastlines. The drives through the mountains were spectacular and we enjoyed the small tavernas on the way. We have until Saturday in Chania and are looking forward to the walk in Samaria Gorge on Friday. Thank you for your help and suggestions. I do hope to return to Crete one day! Regards
- Ermie

Dear Yiannis, I'm so sorry that I didn't respond to your earlier email asking for my feedback. Our time in Crete was wonderful, particularly the parts that you organised or advised us on. Villa Erghina was the perfect place to stay: it very quickly felt like our own home. I'm only sorry that we didn't have room in our luggage to take home the complimentary olive oil and raki! The car was exactly what we needed, and we had no problems with it, except that the handbrake didn't work very well. We reported this at the end. Also, the Green Motion staff weren't initially aware of your offer to let us have a second driver for no extra charge. However, the moment we showed them a copy of your email about this, they accepted the condition very cordially, without further objection. Generally we were very happy indeed with the car. You suggested we go to Chora Sfakion, and from there to Marmara Beach and Dialiskari. This was excellent advice. We booked directly with Casa Delfino for one night (i.e. not through you), but I might as well mention to you that it is an excellent hotel (especially, oh my God, the breakfast). There were a couple of small problems - the hotel didn't seem aware of the general custom of having tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, and one of the telephones didn't work - but in both cases the matters were addressed promptly and efficiently. Generally we found Crete completely delightful, and the Cretan people charming, hospitable, cheerful and hard-working. We ate some marvellous food, but I wish we'd had more opportunity to sample the genuine χωριάτικη φαγητό. That is just one of the reasons why we are so keen to return! Again, many thanks for your help and advice. You do an excellent job. All our best wishes,
- Paul and Tessa

Hi Yiannis, Our activity (Amalthia-Making Cretan Cheese In The Heart Of Psiloritis Natural Park ) was awesome! Penelope is an amazing guide, and any traveler to Crete will be lucky to have her as their teacher. The whole event exceeded my exceptions and was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you so much for checking in!
- Susan

Yiannis, good to hear from you.
We definitely enjoyed our time in Crete...the people, scenery and weather were all highlights.
We rented a car from Anna Cars and found the vehicle to be quite new and in very good condition. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating.
As for our accommodation, I'll comment on each in order of stay:
Atrion Hotel was a little tricky to find (our flight was delayed and we got in quite late) but once there it was close to the old town centre and the pedestrian mall which we enjoyed. The room was acceptable. However, parking was at a premium and was difficult. They provide an excellent breakfast in a nice outdoor setting.
Villa Kerasia Inn was undoubtedly one of the highlights on our trip. The owner and staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and they serve a dinner each night for 4 or more guests for 16 euros including wine...excellent value and great conversation with guests from all over Europe, Australia & North America. The rooms are comfortable, not lavish. The Villa overlooks the valley and is near a small village and therefore is very quiet. A pool and attractive outdoor area is available for guest use. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and very good value.
Arcus Luxury Suites is tucked away in a small town. The accommodation is very nice and the property features a pool, deck area and attractive garden. It is very quiet however and there is not much around there. On balance, we would have preferred to have stayed longer in Rethymnon. Quite expensive, although our unit had a full kitchen which we did not really need or use.
Atrium Ambiance Hotel is located in a nice area of Rethymnon  one block from the beach and is within walking distance to the old town. Plenty of retaurants in the area. This is a new, very modern hotel which offers nice rooms, pool & deck area. The restaurant serves nice meals and provides an excellent complimentary breakfast. Excellent value & highly recommended.
Hotel Porto Loutro is located on the south coast of the island and requires leaving the car and taking a ferry to Loutro. The drive to the south coast and the setting is worth the trip alone. Hotel accommodation is very basic and the breakfast is average at best. The hotel setting and the views of the bay and village are very nice. There is a large pebble beach and numerous outdoor restaurants along the shoreline. There are several interesting hikes in the area. Recommended if you want to see the south coast and are looking for a relaxing stay. Hotel is a little pricey for what you get.
Milia Traditional Village is quite different as it is a restored old Cretan Village located in a very remote location (requiring some effort to find it). Extremely quiet, fairly basic accommodation yet interesting. The village has a superb restaurant in a marvellous setting. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Well worth seeing, noting it is fairly close to Hania. One of the top eco-resorts in the world according to National Geographic Magazine.
Royal Sun is located high up on a hill overlooking Hania. Excellent views of the city and the bay. Very nice view rooms, huge swimming pool and nice patio area. Hotel offers a superb complimentary breakfast and serves good meals. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle into the old town every 30 minutes (which we found very convenient). Very quiet location. EXTREMELY GOOD VALUE.
That sums up our impressions of our accommodation in Crete.
Once again Yiannis, thank you for helping us put our Crete itinerary together... our trip went very well. My main regret was not flying out of Hania rather than returning to Iraklion for our return flight.
- Wayne

- Marie

I had a wonderful time on Crete and the Lato Hotel could not have better. I liked it as it was so central for me to use the buses and the ferry. I had dinner two nights in the restaurant that had very good views. I had a marvellous treatment in the Beauty Salon and the girls were very professional. I also spent 3 nights in Chania, but best of all I fell in love with Loutro. It was a very special place and I loved the simplicity there. I was concerned about travelling on my own but everyone was very polite and respectful! I shall definitely be back to Crete next year, and will stay at The Lato again. Thank you for your help and advice. With best wishes from a very hot London!
- Sarah

Hello Yiannis, Thank you for your email. We had a very enjoyable stay in the Veneto Suites. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming, our suite was lovely - comfortable and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed our evening meal in the courtyard, the food was excellent, the choice of Greek wine exceptional and the waiting staff were very pleasant and efficient. Breakfasts were also very good. Rethymno was a delightful town to stay in for a few days and we enjoyed wandering through the streets. There was plenty to see and lots of good places to eat and drink. We appreciate the service received from Cretan Travel and shall certainly consider booking with you again when we return to Crete. Best wishes
- Jo

Good to hear from you have a reminder of our marvellous time in Crete. all went very well for us including the car rental. I will only add that I think it would be good to be offered the choice of a small 4x4 car if , like us , one intended to visit the more remote villages (like Milia) where the roads are quite rough and not surfaced. good wishes from us
- Robert

We had a super holiday in Crete. The island is very beautiful, the food was wonderful and the people hospitable and welcoming. Both hotels were very, very good. The team at Fatma Hanoum Boutique Hotel were very kind and incredibly helpful. They always wanted to know what we had done that day, gave us restaurant recommendations, bus times , organised taxis and so on. The room was delightful and breakfasts absolutely delicious. Kapsaliana was gorgeous. The restaurant served excellent food although we would have liked more fish and a little less lamb!!. It was a bit tricky to get a cocktail or pre-dinner drink so one sometimes had to hover around the kitchen door or wave to someone. The terrace beside the dining area had a small table or two but it was not really set up for cocktails or pre-dinner drinks. I think if they promoted it more (traditional Cretan aperitifs , cocktails made with herbs from the garden etc etc and made the terrace more welcoming?) they would get the custom? The reception staff were very helpful and kind and the chef regularly talked to the diners. Our room was very nice and we enjoyed our daily session in the pool (in the cool of the end of the day). Thank you so much Yiannis for all your help and guidance. Much appreciated and we will recommend you to our friends.
- Debbie

We hope you are well Thank you so much for all your assistance with our recent holiday I have attached a review of the Libyan Mare Hotel, as you will see, we loved our stay in Paleachora We will definitely be revisiting Greece so, we will be in contact again!! With warm wishes and many thanks.

The Libyan Mare Suites is a small, family owned property. It is situated in a perfect location, approximately 15 minute walk from Paleochora town, on a small hillside and away from the main road. It is very peaceful and private, with wonderful views over the Libyan Sea and towards the mountains. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful lush gardens and has a lovely pool area with ample sun loungers and tables and chairs scattered under shady trees. The gardens are lovingly maintained by the owners’ mother. Our room was on the ground floor, I would suggest a higher floor to really appreciate the views, but we liked our shady terrace, and had the use of a public balcony on the first floor. Very spacious open plan bedroom/seating area and kitchen. Huge, very comfortable bed and sofa bed. Fully equipped kitchen with full size fridge, large bathroom with good, powerful shower, good storage space and excellent air conditioning The hotel was very well maintained with high standards of cleanliness The family were very welcoming and friendly, doing all they could to ensure our satisfaction There are no catering facilities or bar at this hotel, the nearest supermarket is in Paleachora Ten minute walk to a long sandy/rocky beach with ample sun loungers/umbrellas We absolutely loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it. We would love to return We would like to thank the staff from Crete Travel for their invaluable assistance with our booking and transportation needs. Yiannis, it has been a pleasure to do business with you and I know we will call upon your services again. We love your beautiful country and the Greek communities, we have visited many times, and will continue to do so in the future. Our favourite holiday destination!!
- Heather

We really enjoyed our stay at Porto del Colombo. The staff at reception were so helpful in arranging excursions and giving advice. The breakfasts were very good and plentiful. The only point I would say is that when we were dropped off by the taxi there was no-one at the hotel and we had to work out how to find the room which took some time. Thanks
- Phil

Good to hear from you. We enjoyed our visit to Crete very much, and we especially valued the help you gave us. All three hotels were good: Lato Boutique Hotel was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and kind (they kept my mobile phone for me for a week, which I'd left behind by mistake); Milia Village was beautiful and fascinating, and so was Thalori. We weren't expecting Thalori to be quite so dramatic and high up - it was lovely once we'd got there and again the staff were very friendly. So my only suggestion for future visitors would be to explain in advance that it's seriously remote! Altogether we had a really good time. Thanks again
- Ruth

Dear Yiannis, All went well and we covered a fair amount of ground including getting to the Omalos plateau above Kato Symi in Viannos. The car was the right size, booking in and returning went smoothly. The full insurance was very expensive but meant we had no worries about coming back to the car to find someone had scratched it. There have been many letters in the Observer and Guardian travel pages recently recounting horror stories of charges raised by insurance companies. In the "old days" when we first dealt with your company you always offered genuinely full insurance. The roads are much better these days but it still makes sense to be covered even if it means a few less ouzos. We plan to come back next year, probably in the autumn and would aim again for a few days travelling before catching the bus down to Sfakia and heading for Anopoli and Loutro. We may start at Chania. Can you look after us there? All best wishes, we hope you and yours were not involved in those dreadful fires,
- B. and B.

Hi Yiannis, we had a wonderful time in pantelitsa rooms at lovely Loutro Village, thanks for organising it for us. We loved the place, it was fantastic.
- Hazel

Thanks Yiannis, We had a wonderful time at Pepi Boutique Hotel in Rethimno and posted our thoughts on Trip Advisor. Thanks
- Chris

We have had a lovely holiday in Paleochora, thank you. The Libyan Mare Hotel was perfect. So peaceful. We loved the town as well, many very good restaurants and tavernas, and lovely people Thank you for all your assistance. I know we will return to beautiful Crete.

Kalimera Yiannis, We really enjoyed our visit to Crete.  The hike through the gorge was perfect.  Our guide, Lena, was wonderful.  She was very informative and fun to walk with.  She made sure we were safely accompanied through the entire walk.  It was a bit of an exciting day because the winds were picking up so the gorge was closed to visitors after we had already started to walk so we were encourage to keep moving quickly through certain areas because of the danger of falling rocks. We were thankful that we made it through with no incidents and the ferry departed as scheduled. It turned out we needed to stay an extra night longer in Crete the  next day because our ferry to Santorini was cancelled due to the high winds. Thanks so much.
- Ann

Well, your big brother Nikos took very good care of us today in Iraklion. His tour guide services were a nice surprise and exceeded our expectations. We definitely saw part of the city we would not have seen otherwise. His gifts of wine, raki, and honey were very much appreciated. Altogether a good day! We were similarly pleased by our walking tour yesterday. Natalia did a great job showing us the town of Chania and introducing us to the food of Crete. We got some great restaurant recommendations, as well. We are now looking forward to our Gastronomy experience tomorrow! Thanks for everything, Cheers,
- Al

Γεια σου my dear Giannis!

It’s now been three weeks since I left lovely Crete and I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your support and assistance. Thank you. Thank you. From your thoughtful input during the development of my itinerary, to assisting me at an absurd hour of the night with the taxi after my flight was delayed, to checking-in periodically to ensure I was enjoying my vacation – every step of the way you went the extra mile!

Pandora Suites was a pleasure of flowing linen curtains, enchanting views to the harbor, and a deep sleep in a comfortable bed. I enjoyed stunning sunsets from the rooftop deck, which is also a great place for a “free concert” away from the crowds in the evening on weekends (with a dessert from Pasteleria de Dana, of course!), and the morning staff are so friendly at breakfast. Quite nice. One of my habits in Chania Town is a visit to Το μικρό καράβι bookstore (Daskalogianni 55). I always find a great gift there! This time, he wrapped it for me quite beautifully. And I wouldn’t miss taking dinner at Chrisostomos Restaurant – amazing, as always. The staff actually seemed to remember me from my last visit… Wonderful Chania.

The Botanical Park & Gardens of Crete was outstanding! The place is a living work of art, built with love and a powerful vision. An experiential delight. I highly recommend it. Also, the food at the restaurant is superb. Best stuffed grape leaves and courgette blossoms I’ve ever had.

Milia Traditional Village! What a revelation. I have never slept so well or felt such an immediate glow of relaxed vitality and well-being as I did there. Truly an antidote to the rush of modern urban life. Beautiful walks, stunning views, healthy air, excellent food, friendly and attentive staff. A place to regain equilibrium and a quiet mind. I could easily have spent a week soaking it in.

And then Agia Roumeli. I fell in love with it! Simplicity, rugged beauty, raw vitality, honesty, hospitality… A place at the nexus of mountain, gorge, river, sea, and vast horizons. It defies description. The sea was glorious for an afternoon dip. The hot sand good for tired muscles. Fabulous walks in all directions and it is a nice bit of excitement when the masses of hikers exit the Samaria Gorge in the afternoon and flow into town. I stayed at the Artemis Hotel (clean, comfortable, great balcony views!) and the family and staff treated me so well. The meals slow-cooked in clay pots at Artemis Restaurant were fantastic! I stayed about a week and felt I could stay another month. The whole world seems to vanish away… I’ll definitely go back. Maybe next time I’ll sign up for the Samaria Experience.

Finally, Lato Boutique Hotel in Heraklion was a good re-entry to the bustle of the urban world in brawny Heraklion. Friendly staff, eager to accommodate guests’ needs, and very professional. Clean, comfortable rooms & expansive breakfast buffet. Dinner overlooking the harbor from the hotel’s restaurant was enjoyable. And the location can’t be beat! So convenient to everything.

Eυχαριστώ Πάρα πολύ from the Netherlands, Giannis. I’ll absolutely be in touch for my next trip to Crete!

- Diana

Chania old Town and the Harbours very nice. Great food of high quality. And England beat Colombia so all well with the world! Really enjoyed the lovely Fatma Hanoum Yiannis. Very stylish and super breakfasts. The staff were kind and really helpful. Great! Picked up our hire car this morning and now relaxing by the pool at Kapsaliana Village Hotel. Beautiful place with stunning views and our room very nice. Had delicious lunch. Kind regards
- Debbie

Yassou Yianni It was amazing and everything worked like clockwork and we made excellent time to Chania. Thank you so much. George was the best guide I've ever had a Knossos. I will make sure I cover all of the above on Trip Advisor once I finish with my group. Been so busy only been able to do basic Social Media. Hopefully meet you on my last day in Heraklion next Tuesday. Thank you also for the excellent car package you arranged for C. H. from tomorrow.
- Francesca

Hi Yiannis, Thank you for your email and apologies for the delay in replying. We had a lovely holiday at St. Nicolas Bay Hotel and now the weather in the UK has turned cold and frosty we wish we were back in Crete. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary whilst at the hotel and our son organised breakfast on our balcony and a cake on the day through the hotel, for which there was no charge, which was a nice touch. Breakfast each day was wonderful and I now have a taste for Crete honey, which I never ate before! I am sure we will be back to Crete or maybe another one of the islands very soon. Kind regards - - - Peter

Yiannis, We had a wonderful time in Crete. Chania was lovely and the DomicileChania - Venetian Residence and service was excellent. Tasso was a wonderful host and you, Yiannis did a great job of answering any of our questions. We will return to Crete, to Tassos’ apartment and to CreteTravel.com. Sincere thanks
- Margo & Graham

Hi Yiannis Every thing was fine we had a good holiday and were please with the place we stayed.all I would say is the beds could have been better. but for the price I’m not complaining.Thank you for setting everything up for us, everything fell into place perfect. and yes we would come again and I would definitely use yourself as the agent. Thank you for everything
- Mike & Jeanette.

Dear Yiannis, We absolutely loved our time in Moni. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer and didn't build in a night or two in Chania before we went home. From the friendly folk at the Green Motion car hire to very helpful Konstantina at Monastery Estate, to the lovely people at Moni taverna, we wouldn't have changed a thing. We tend to come to Crete every five years or so, but a return visit to Moni seems called for soon than that. All best wishes,
- Carolyne

Dear Yiannis, Thank you for your e-mail. We spent fantastic holidays. Apart from the fact that Crete is a wonderful island full of contrasts, this impressive and charming house gave to our holidays a touch of special uniqueness in another era. We deeply treasure the excellent and warm hospitality of Tassos. Yes, we found the very big bottle of olive oil last Friday morning outside the door. Thanks a lot for this! We were a little afraid to put the olive oil in the suitcase, but in the end it was not a problem. We have packed it safely. Now we can enjoy the world´s best olive oil at home in thoughts of Gavalachori. We hope, that we can come again soon to this lovely place of Tassos with its extraordinary and touching atmosphere. Thank you for all and kind regards from Germany in autumn
- Bettina and Christoph

Hi Yiannis everything was perfect and wonderful thankyou so much for your hospitality! Crete was by far our favourite and we look forward to returning. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to our friends and family. In fact our neighbours plan to come to Crete next year and we will definitely tell them about your websites. Kind regards
- Elise

Kalimera Yiannis, Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip down the Samaria Gorge yesterday with Linda. We had a lovely time and thought Linda was an excellent guide. Also please thank Spiro for looking after us so well in the minibus. We sadly only have a few days here for our first time in Crete but we plan to return and we will be booking some more of your trips next time! Thank you and warm wishes,
- Vanessa

Dear Yiannis, Our holidays were just perfect. I don't have any suggestion, because everything was just perfect. I have recommended already Hotel Plakures to many friends. Please keep it as it is, it is just an incredible pleasure to come! Best regards
- Laurent

Dear Yiannis Thank you very much for your message. Here my feedback on our holiday in Loutro. We really had a great time again in Loutro after so many years. Hotel Porto Loutro I was lovely and still has the same charm. We enjoyed eating at Notos, Pavlos (super!) and Ilios. They are all excellent and the perfect Greek hosts. Our son and daughter liked it so much that they wanted to prolong their stay but it was all booked out, no way, sadly. I understand they are all booked out in Semptember too and so we would like to ask you if we can have an option for Porto Loutro I in September 18 for the first two weeks? As for your organization and service: perfect! Thank you very much! You are doing an excellent job. With kind regards from rainy Switzerland,
- Brigitte

HI Yannis, What a wonderful holiday we had in Crete, the monastery estate was fabulous and they were so welcoming and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. We also spent a very pleasant day in Paleochora and the Hotel on the Rock was very good. We loved Sougia, just like the Crete of the 70’s, nothing had changed, it was perfect. The car hire worked out well too. Thank you for your help with organising the accommodation and car. Now it is back to reality and work. We are already looking forward to next year. I hope you manage to get some time off to enjoy the beach. Kind regards,
- Sue

Hi Yiannis Sorry I’d meant to email you and say thank you for making all the arrangements. Crete was lovely, whilst we’d like to come back there are so many Greek Islands to explore but who knows?? !! The accommodation was just as we would have hoped, but every single person we met on Crete was SO friendly it really made the holiday. (That, and meeting Henry the Turtle at Chania Port) The car was basic but again as expected, and again the staff were so kind and helpful. Your own attention has been really appreciated, including the call to Villa Kerasia, thank you. Efharistoomay
- Paul and Jo

Dear Yiannis It is my pleasure to give you feedback. Jan and I enjoyed our stay very much at Kastellos Traditional Houses especially after we moved to the upper flat. I imagine that the flat downstairs is great if the weather is very hot as it quite dark. Due to the cooler weather and the rain, the flat was a bit too humid (smelled humid) and cool. If I can suggest an improvement then I would suggest renovating the bathroom a little. Its condition could be improved. The flat upstairs with the lovely terasse is very nice and comfortable. So is the pool area and the atmosphere of the whole settlement. Having not stayed in the newer settlement higher up in the village, I cannot compair the accommodation. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much. Kastellos Traditional Village and the area around is beautiful and well worth a second visit! Thank you for all, regards to the house-keeper (I forgot her name) and have a good summer season! best regards

Good evening Yiannis We are doing very well thank you. We enjoyed our holiday in lovely Crete. The only thing that could have been better would have been to have more time there. Car hire went as planned. It was very convenient to pick up the car at our hotel and the drop off was very easy. We loved all the places that we stayed at and enjoyed lovely sunny weather, warm clear sea, good food and wine. We managed to visit Makrigialos and agree that this would have also been a very good place to stay. We didn’t get chance to see Kato Zakros but perhaps we can go there on our next visit. Thank you for all your good advice
- Hilary and Dominic

Yiannis, kalispera. I am home again after my short but wonderful stay in Crete. I wanted to say how much I loved it all, thank you for booking me in to Porto loutro on the hill, Sophia and especially kostas and Pandora, and the other woman whose name I have forgotten, demethria perhaps, were so beautiful, lovely people, so helpful. You see I am writing my third novel, set in Crete. For the moment the title is 'Follow the goat. A slow romance at high speed'. :) We did indeed see lots of goats, on the last day we hiked into aradena gorge, we also swam in the sea caves and of course ate at the taverna. Heaven! I will send my photos of aradena. I hope you are well and enjoying that beautiful weather, its a bit cold back here! Best wishes to you.
- Jane

it is my pleasure to give you feedback as we didn't see eachother before we left. Jan and I enjoyed our stay very much especially after we moved to the upper flat. Kastellos and the area around is beautiful and well worth a second visit! Thank you for all, regards to the house-keeper (I forgot her name) and have a good summer season! best regards

Thank you. We took your driving suggestion today. We enjoyed All of it. The tour at the Boutari Winery at Skalani Village was lovely (and a beautiful setting). We spent more than 2 hours at the museum of Nick Kazantzakis at Mirtia or Varvarous Village. However, our favorite part was dinner in Arhanes. That may have been the best meal we ate on all of Crete. What a lovely town. I am ready to visit there again in the future. We ate at Bakaliko. They were extremely nice, and their food was spectacular. Thank you again for the suggestion. In English, we would say that we made 'lemonade out of lemons'. This means when you have something turn sour (like no sailing), you make the best of it. That was true today. Regards,
- Nick

Hi Yiannis, I had a really lovely day from start to finish – the guide was excellent, and the restaurant she recommended at the end was fabulous. For me, no improvements needed. If I come to Crete again (which I hope I will), I will walk the gorge with your company again! Best.
- Jenny

Hi Yiannis Now at home, after a great time in Crete. Thank you so much for all your help and assistance. As already stated our 4 days at Villa Kerasia were magic and met some very interesting people. Babis was just great and his two ladies who help him were first rate. We had not appreciated that going on to the coast was going to be so different in so many ways, not to our liking, however we made the best of it. We will certainly will give your name to friends if they are looking to go to Crete. Very kind regards
- David S.

Dear Yannis, this is just to infomr you that everything you had promised before was fulfilled and even more. We had a wonderful holiday and were treated with utmost hospitality at Spilia Traditional Village which we will communicate to everyone we know. Thank you again and all the best for Crete.
Bettina S.

Hi Yiannis We really enjoyed it. Our guide gave us a fascinating tour of the Old Town that was both informative and insightful. She is obviously proud of her home town. Definitely a highlight of our week in Chania. Thanks.
David T.

Our trip was a great moment for us, and we will certainly come back in Crete. Many thanks for your kind reception and your effectiveness. Be sure that we will contact you again for our next travel in Greece. Best regards, Jean-Louis,
Catherine and Fabien

a big thank you for your message we were delighted with our trip to Crete in September: friendliness of the people, archaeological sites, landscapes, great food, beautiful Orthodox monasteries, beautiful beaches….!!! Since our return we have been very busy and are sorry to respond so late... Notos apartments are very well located with a beautiful view and we had a nice step near Triopetra (this is particularly quiet in September) The traditional village Milia is truly a unique experience that we really appreciated ! We will not fail to advise your site to our friends who would go to Crete and thank you again for all your advice Best regards
H et MC

let me briefly answer you as follows: We enjoyed again a wonderful vacation on Crete, and everything was perfect. During the past 25 years, we have spent 6 or 7 vacations on Crete, mostly staying 3-4 nights here and 3-4 nights there, and I know Crete so well that I often don't need a map for our trips with a rent-car. We like Crete very much, the beautiful landscapes both in the mountains and at the sea, the kindness of the people and the yery interesting history. One of our favorite places is the Historical Site of Phaistos. Besides on Crete, we have spent 2 vacations on Santorin, one vacation (round trip) on Samos & Ikaria & Patmos, and one vacation (round trip) on Mykonos & Paros & Naxos & Santorin. What we don't yet know is the Pelepones. Regards,
Klaus.

Everything was superb; am very pleased that you suggested the Belmondo Hotel in Chania. This is a wonderful small hotel, and I would definitely stay again if I were back in Crete. Thanks for your assistance. With best regards,
Joe

Kerrasia is our sort of place, smaller, more personal, quieter. That is not in any way to be critical of Istron Bay where we enjoyed high standards of comfort, quality meals, obliging staff and a spectacular environment. But we hope that CreteTravel will continue to look out for the smaller hotels for which, I know from talking to other independent travellers, there is great demand. As to CreteTravel's role, we have found it exemplary in every way. Regards
Colin and Lesley

Thanks for your follow-up email. We had a great time in Chania and loved the Porto Colombo. In fact, I've already recommended it to friends who are planning their own trip next summer. We will be back to Greece/ Crete again.... remember, I have relatives south of Heraklion. And we will certainly use your services again if/when we go traveling. Thanks again,
Mike

Hello, We had a really great time! What a beautiful country. And we wished we had a longer time to spend in Crete, because we didn't get to go to all the places we wanted to. Villa Kerasia Inn was truly wonderful and we were happy to spend most of our nights there. The owner is very accomodating, location was central, and we really enjoyed it. Thank you! The one issue we had was the car. We asked for a manual, and had an automatic, which in the end was fine, it was just not our initial request, or so I thought. But in the end we grew to love it (we even named it), and it took us to all of the places we wanted, so we were fine with it. Overall, if we ever go to Greece/Crete again I will definitely work with you again. Thanks!
Aleksandra

Thanks for all your assistance and good advice, we had a fantastic time in Loutro, Milia and Chania The hotels were all great and one of the highlights was the breakfast at hotel Belmondo served on our own private roof terrace, over looking Chania harbour, especially on the Saturday when their was a flying display by the Cretan air force. Will certainly be back and have nothing but praise for the friendliness of all those we met and quality of fresh food that was offered. Regards
Malcolm

Just to let you know that our trip to Crete was great , the Akti Rooms are as good as ever , well run , clean and a real hideaway ! Xerokambos may be a long way from anywhere else but it's very special and we love it . Happily no more building has taken place there only a few very nice looking villas just on the road before the turning to the Akti and they have now finished the road surface completely between Xerokambos and Zakros .It was very hot while we were there and windy for a number of days but it's so beautiful we are hooked. Hope to go back again maybe next year but certainly before we get too much older !! Thanks for your help . Regards ;
Janet

Thank you for checking in. Yes, our stay on Crete was fabulous! Villa Kerasia is an absolute gem and we are so glad that we found it! We have not a single negative thing to say about it. Far surpassed our expectations and we will definitely stay there again should we find ourselves visiting Crete again. Thank you for checking in!
Diana

Many thanks for the email - and apologies for my delayed response. We had a lovely time at Aspros Potamos, even though we were only there for a couple of nights. We'd certainly recommend it to anyone else who was thinking of staying there! All the best,
Patrick and Danae

I am sorry for being so long to answer your questionnary. We've been very satisfied by the hotel in Porto Lutro 2. We ve particlarly appreciated our roof top room. Moreover, we really enjoyed the way people welcame us. We thank you for everything and be sure that we will recommand you to our friend, and if we are plannig another trip in grece, we'll contact you.
Anita

I just wanted to tell you that our trip to Villa Kerasia and Roustika - Abelos Villa on Crete was wonderful. You could not have advised us any better on how to spend our week on our own. Babis was a wonderful host and the food and views were amazing. In Roustika I felt like I had found a little heaven on earth. I don't think I have ever in my life experienced such remote beauty. We ate in the local village and were treated like royalty. It's an experience my girls will never forget. The car worked out too. So thanks again for your astute advise. With Kind Regards,
Erika

Hi Giannis, We really enjoyed our week at Villa Kynthia. It was very well situated in the centre of everything, but a haven of calm in the lovely courtyard. Maria was extremely helpful and efficient, breakfast was great! Everything Crete Travel organised for us went like clockwork, as it always does Thanks for your help
Judy (August 2016)

This was a superb holiday at Porto Loutro Hotel and Loutro Village. We loved every minute. It was easy to book and easy to go and amazing once we got there. We did not want to go home. And even now months and months later I think of that beautiful spot where we had a most fantastic holiday . I can't recommend it highly enough.
Lorna ( August 2016)

Dear Giannis, everything was perfect! We love so much Crete that we will visit it again and again: we've been there eight times (this time at Eleonas Traditional Village). Thank you for your message and your kindness. We hope to see you again, sooner or later.
Giovanna & Stefano (September 2016)

After spending a wonderful week of walking (and climbing up the steep slope and the 80 steps to the uppermost cottage no. 9) at and around Eleonas, it is easy to share the multitude of positive reviews, leaving mine at that. But I would like to go one step further. Success doesn’t come easily, it is hard work. Behind all the friendly smiles and helpfulness of the staff one detects a Greek success story. Manolis must be, and probably is a true and inspiring manager. Looking round the park I was amazed to see how well everything was set-up, organized and maintained. It is a tourist jewel for the whole of the Zaros area and the village council should be very happy to have such a personality around. Of course, nitpickers will always find something to complain, like cleaning the mineral deposit on the shower head. But if one doesn’t tell, how the management would know? I can’t think of anything else. Well done, Manolis! ‘Au revoir’ and ‘tot ziens’.
Adrian & Agathe (September 2016)

It was very well ; and as I expected ; I thank you for your work, and I like your web site, it is very convenient The restaurant « the Herb’s Garden » in the Lato Hotel is a great one : the best one I have known in Crete Best regards
Catherine (September 2016)

Dear Giannis, Kalimera! It is quite cold and dull here in England and we miss Crete a lot! We have had to put the heating on already. We had a wonderful stay in Crete. The Amygdalia Villas were amazing and they up graded our room for some reason which was fantastic. We even had our own pool!! Through our booking with them we were contacted by you to book a possible car hire. The whole booking, collecting and return of our car was so stress free. We still can’t quite believe it! The car was perfect for our needs and we were able to explore more of your lovely country. All the staff in Green Motion were lovely and very helpful. We would certainly use your company again. We are planning to come to Heraklion next time and so may even see you there! Thank you again for all your help, your lovely emails and for looking after us so well. With very best wishes and big thank you,
Vail (September 2016)

Kalimera Giannis! I think the Kionia Apartments are a little piece ofparadise! Quiet, just 20 yards from the Lybian Sea and with all the amenities you could want. The lovely Taverna at Fotini is just a few minutes walk and that is also lovely. Perfect! Thanks again for all your help in the arrangements and hopefully next year I will be back! Maybe even in the Winter, which I would like to do!
Ian (September 2016)

Hi Giannis My experience on the Samaria Gorge small group tour will be in my memory forever. Even though I slept in because I had not realised that Greece time was an hour difference to Italy time, Linda, the tour guide waited for me. (I probably only took 5 minutes as I'd prepared everything the night before.) The driver of the bus negotiated all those twists and turns on the way to the gorge with ease. You felt secure with his driving skills. And the views on the way were wonderful. The drive back from the boat in the evening was equally as well done as the morning. Linda managed superbly with me as the only Australian client, the other six being French. She also kept an eye on me as the oldest in the group. The pace of the tour was gradual and we had adequate time to enjoy the impressive scenery of the gorge. I have been given one of your cards and when I get home i will get my family to help me put a post on your Facebook page and also on TripAdvisor. Thank you for accommodating me on this trip.

As soon as I saw this hotel (Mama Nena Charming Hotel )on the internet I wanted to book it! Unfortunately it was booked out as it only has three rooms. yiannis from Crete travel, however, managed to have no trouble to get us in. Thank you Yiannis, we would have been terribly sad to stay anywhere else. Martina stayed up late to welcome us from our long drive and from that first welcome, we knew this was somewhere special. The hotel is beautiful, simple design with many original pieces of furniture and martina's long history with the house is interesting. It is positioned perfectly, gorgeous view and right in the main part of the old town. Walk out the front door to a plethora of restaurants. Breakfast prepared by Diana was divine and she is a gorgeous lady too, nothing was too much trouble, even our messy eating, hungry 2 boys. Prior to arriving, I was worried that we might feel that we were intruding in someone's home, but it was quite the opposite. Martina and Diana were there when you needed them but left you to feel that it was your home. Simply the most wonderful place to stay. Thank you Martina and Diana, you are two lovely ladies! Vivienne, Ross, Charlie and Harry. Melbourne, Australia. "
Viviene (September 2106)

Good Afternoon Yiannis, Just a note to say THANK YOU to all the team that made my Samaria Gorge hike a pleasure. Linda is amazing. She showed up on time and she knows how to guide her clients in a very reassuring way. She is a good team leader. She knows the gorge very well and I felt all along that she kept looking out for my safety. Both drivers were courteous and professional. Thank You,
Peter G S. (September 2016)

We had a lovely time at Villa Kynthia, it was peaceful, restful but right in the centre of things. Maria looked after us wonderfully, nothing was too much trouble. We loved it! Your service was great as always, everything went well thank you
Regards, Judy (September 2016)

Dear Giannis, We wanted to respond and let you know how wonderful the Samaria Gorge tour was thanks to you and your employees. It was super convenient to be picked up in our village and taken back at the end of the long day. Natalia was our tour guide. We cannot say enough about how wonderful she is! She is pleasant, knowledgable, and patient. We had some in our group who had some difficulty with the hike. She stuck by their sides the entire time and gave them nothing but encouragement. I do believe they would not have been able to complete the hike without her. We all loved her stories and information about the island and the wonderful Cretan people and customs. We would all highly recommend your tour to anyone considering the hike. Ioannis was our driver. He was also wonderful! He took the tough curves very gently. Some our our group are prone to car sickness and he maneuvered the roads gracefully. We want to thank you with all our hearts for one of the high points of an amazing week in Crete. All the best,
Rebecca and Mathew C. (August 2016)

My husband and I booked our car rental through CreteTravel and they were exceptional at providing professional and helpful service from my first inquiry until drop-off. All of my emails were answered quickly with utmost friendliness. After receiving the car, we were contacted just to make sure everything was fine. They will go the extra mile to ensure a great experience. I was not only satisfied but highly impressed with the consistent outstanding service across all staff dealings. They took care of last minute reservation changes without a problem and were very accommodating and kind throughout the whole process. Our car began to overheat and upon calling the company, a staff person arrived at our location in less than an hour – he did an inspection and traded cars with us. The quick response and staff’s pleasantness turned a normally sour situation into a gladdened one. The staff at the Chania airport drop-off location was also so kind to receive us, and when she saw our enormous luggage – she swiftly dropped us off in front of the airport and drove the car back to the storefront. My husband and I were so grateful for her act of kindness just so we could avoid walking in the heat even for a few minutes. This was the best rental car company I’ve ever dealt with – they’ve perfected excellent customer service. Crete is a gorgeous island and I would recommend anyone to visit and book through CreteTravel for an even better experience. When we return, we’ll book more of our travel needs with CreteTravel.

Dear Giannis, Below is the text I just sent to Tripadvisor. We tremendously enjoyed our stay at Babis at Villa Kerasia Inn !!! I'm at a lost of words to express our gratitude to Babis for having made our stay such a memorable one. From his warmly welcome with wine and watermelon when we arrived to our departure, everything was just perfect ! Going to Villa Kerasia is like going to a family house, with this flavor of "old south of France". We had a spacious room on the ground floor close to the pool. We stayed 3 nights and had dinner there each night prepared by the lovely Iphignenia. Actually, dinner can be arranged but provided there are 4 guests minimum. Most of the other guests had the "table d'hôte" dinner with us. It was very nice and we get acquainted to each other easily, exchanging advice and tips about Crete. We enjoyed very much our dinners in a lovely and warm atmosphere. Villa Kerasia has only 7 rooms (2 downstairs and 5 upstairs). Breakfast outside in the shade of the vines was really nice. Babis took us the first night to the Wine Festival to Dafnes, a small village nearby and it was fun. He gives good and precious advice in terms of places to visit or restaurants. Thanks to him we discovered little gems that we would not have visited without his guidance. As Babis runs the place by himself, it is necessary to let him know your time of arrival so that we can be there to welcome you. Wifi is not working very well outside or in the room but in the reception/dining room it works well. Villa Kerasia is at a short distance to Heraklion and surrounded by the vineyards (we had a wine tasting at Daskalaki which we enjoyed very much). Babis is a great person always ready and willing to serve and help his guests. We will definitely come back to Kerasia !
Marie (July 2016)

Dear Giannis, What an amazing place with a great view to enjoy the silence and the mountain Asterousia, the Mount Kofinas and the Libyan sea. This panorama left us speechless ! We were staying in the brand new cottage which we enjoyed very much. You will find below the text I published in Tripadvisor. We spent 3 nights in Thalori and we enjoyed very much our stay. We were staying in the new room in a little 5 units cottages detached from the main "resort". The view from the terrace was just amazing ! Markos and his wife Popi are great host. When we arrived a young girl Katerina welcomed us. Because the village is quite isolated we took all our meals at Thalori and it was perfect and we enjoyed it. We went to the Monastery Moni Koudouma Μονή Κουδουμά and decided to walk to Agios Ioannis Άγιος Ιωάννης. Unfortunately, due to the lack of path signs, we got lost…. Fortunately, Michalelis the father of Markos came and picked us up and we were in contact via phone to find our way ! Thalori is a wonderful place for those who like the nature, the silence which we enjoyed very much. The only thing is you there is a short distance from the parking to the resort or cottage. Therefore, do travel light as there is no donkey or little vehicle to carry your luggage. As we were touring Crete we had heavy suitcases. Wifi was excellent everywhere (room, pool, restaurant...).
Marie (July 2016)

Hi Yiannis Back in Scotland and as predicted ......rain! I have to send you an enormous thanks for all the help you have given us to make our holidays wonderful. I spoke to the girl in On the Rocks Hotel at Paleohora who said you were very clear that you wanted the best for us. I cannot speak highly enough of you to friends and have passed on your company details to them. The girl in the On the rocks hotel was so complimentary about you and showed me your picture on facebook. You look like a really nice person.  I am absolutely sure that you will hear from us again. The car hire was great as well. Thank you Yiannis. Paul and I were delighted with the help and while there felt safe as we had someone to help us if we got into difficulty. Best regards
Anne (July 2016)

Yiannis, Hedda asked me to reply. We very much enjoyed our tour and, in particular, we thought George was an excellent tour guide. Our entire family found George’s tour of both the palace and the museum fascinating. George is extremely knowledgeable and answers questions very well. We would very highly recommend him. He is also a very nice person. We were behind schedule that day and arrived late at Knossos Minoan Palace, but George waited for us without a word of complaint. Regards,
Glenn (July 2016)

Kalimera Yiannis! It is nice to hear from you. We are all back home in the US and getting back into our real lives. But we have fantastic memories of our visit to Crete, Greece and in particular, our hike of the Samaria Gorge! Maria was a great guide and kept a nice pace. We learned to use the walking sticks and that was very useful as the stones can be slippery and they helped to prevent a fall. There is water along the trail but one of the final descents involves a 3 km section between water stops so it is a good idea to make sure you fill your water bottles for everyone. That section happens to be one with lots of open area so it is particularly warm. Stunning vistas at every turn. We loved every minute of it but were happy when we got to the end and enjoyed a big glass of fresh orange juice. The best orange juice we have ever had! I was dreaming last night that I was back hiking the Samaria Gorge and informing others of how things would be coming up. Obviously, it was a memorable experience and I would LOVE to do it again - or perhaps another trip with you when we return. Yamas!
Amy (June 2016)

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed Nikos and his assistant very much. A friendly and laid back environment made it easy to relax and enjoy the day. We were able to fish successfully and then taste the efforts of our work fishing Crete style. I highly recommend this experience and the opportunity to sail, fish and BBQ with some local people. Thank you so much for all your efforts at the last minute.
Bethany (June 2016)

It was absolutely fantastic!! Cleopatra the tour guide at Manousakis Winery couldn't have been nicer! The winery itself is beautiful, the wine is great!! Thank you so much!!!
Donna (May 2016)

Hi Giannis, Just to let you know I had a wonderful time staying at Kionia Apartments, southern Rethimno! Thank you for all your help and maybe I will return in September!
Ian (June 2016)

Dear Giannis, That you for writing - this confirms the great appreciation I have for you, your service and our trip altogether. It was absolutely perfect - the Ammos Hotel, the car, the food, the views, the atmosphere. We had an amazing time!!!! So happy we came to Crete and this will not be the last time, I assure you :) I talked to Nikos about you and he knows we came through the website and he had only good things to say :) I hope you have a great summer, and that next time we can have some Raki together next to the crisp waters :)
Boaz (April 2016)

Dear Yiannis, We had a great time in Crete in early April. The Hotel Ammos was very well run, the food was good and the rooms were well designed. The weather was so good it was even possible to swim in the sea. We enjoyed the Monastery Estate, and the welcome and help from Sofia was excellent, especially helping us with a flat tyre. Again the food was good, as were the taverna recommendations. We explored the region with the car and on foot to Lyssos. We spent the final days at Spilia Village Hotel, which was just opening for the year, again we enjoyed great Cretan hospitality. The flowers were beautiful and the migrant birds were passing through on their way North. The only problem when we arrived was the carhire company we were directed to was Budget, but they said we were booked with GreenMotion, who had not yet got their office shed built! However they did have a car for us! We are just back home from our May tour to Corinth, Nafplion, Monemvasia and the island of Kythera, another wonderful trip but Crete is still the best. Best wishes
Stephanie and Jim C. (April 2016)

Dear Giannis - I am about to leave town for just a few days and will be happy to write you a longer email about our trip once I return. But I do want you to know that everything was so so so well planned for us and we enjoyed the accommodations, the food, and the people very much. I thank you of all the excellent expertise and help you gave us and would recommend your services to anyone traveling to Greece.
Alicia (April 2016)

Yiannis, It was wonderful staying at Eleonas Traditional Houses. Thanks for organising it. Here's my review. Paradise. The situation is beautiful and peaceful. Marvellous walks in the mountains and the south coast is only a scenic 30 minutes away. Excellent Cretan cuisine. The owner and his staff could not have been more hospitable.
Andrew R. (April 2016)

Dear, Dear Giannis, So delightful to hear from you again! We returned from beautiful Greece ten days ago, and have been busy getting “caught up” with necessary tasks here at home. We spent a week on Milos, and a week on Sifnos after leaving Crete, and enjoyed every moment of your beautiful country. It was a holiday that dreams are made of! You were right about the beauty of Crete. It is much more lush that the other islands, with such a variety of fruit trees. We even had a taste of a “fresh off the tree” persimmon! With the rented car we were able explore many beautiful spots. And Abelos Villa! What a perfect haven of paradise! We loved meeting Eleni. She is a total delight, and when we left, it felt like we were leaving a friend. So thank you your input in finding us that beautiful place! We managed to get ourselves lost on occasion, while trying to find our way on the not so well marked roads. There was always someone who was willing to give us instructions, and point us in the right directions. When we were trying to find Roustika, the first day on Crete we came across an man herding his sheep down the road. He didn’t speak English, but with many smiles, actions and hand gestures he made himself understood. We got his photo, his arm around each of us, and a big smile on his face. We think he quite enjoyed meeting two Canadian women who needed his help. He was delightful. At no time during our trip did we feel unsafe. The people of Greece are very open, friendly and generous. And you. dear Giannis, are a wonderful example of Greek hospitality. From my very first contact with you. your willingness to help, and your good suggestions were invaluable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. Crete is blessed to have you! Best regards,
Merna (April 2016)

Hello Giannis We had an absolutely perfect holiday thank you. From the warm welcome offered by Tassos who showed us around his stunning property, to the peace of Gavelachori ,the walks in the surrounding hills and the swimming ....everything was faultless... We'd recommend your company and the house to anyone. Thank you for your kind attention Warm regards
Susanne (April 2016)

Hi Yannis, You can include my statements in this email as your review to post on your website. My group and I were in Crete and had a last minute opening in our schedule. We googled sailing trips in Heraklion and found Crete Travel. With very short notice, Yannis and his team were able to get a wonderful half day sailing trip from Heraklion that fit into our window of availability. The food was lovely and conversation with Yannis was interesting and informative. We all had fun trying our hand at trimming sails and landing the boat. The boat was sleek and clean and the sailing became the highlight of our trip. Thank you for the wonderful experience, we will always use your service when visiting Crete. Sincerely,
Kari O. (May 2016)

Good morning We had a wonderful trip to Crete, the friendliness and sense of hospitality of the people were amazing and the natural beauty and historical interest of the places we visited were tremendous. The car rental worked very well, with a high level of efficiency both on collection and on return of the vehicle. It was just right for a group of 6, and served us well. Kind regards and thanks again for your help
Robert H (April 2016)

And a sunny Kalimera day to you Giannis, Sadly very little sun here in Ireland, we will have to return to Crete again soon. We had a lovely time and on our first visit to Heraklion, Knossos, Chania and Agia Apostoli. The people were especially friendly, the food unique and all left us wishing for more. Until we Crete again !, Slainte ( Best wishes in Gaelic our native language ).
Michael & Maureen (April 2016)

Sorry for the delay in my answer. The trip to Crete was great. It is a very beautiful island. We have very much appreciated your support (everytime we need your help, we could easily contact you) and have especially enjoyed our stay at Dorovinis house. The Dorovinis are very nice people, smart, warmful hospitality, who had greatly wellcome us in their house. The house is beautiful, confortable, very clean (a special thanks to Margarita, the house keeping) and the view is amazing. We strongly recommand their house to any traveller in Crete. It is a very good choice. I think we will use your website to come back in Greece. Best regards,
Giao (April 2016)

Thank you very much for for the refund - we did not expect it since it was a deposit. I stepped on a Drakaina fish when swimming at Elefonissis and the poison was very severe. I had 3 nights in Chania hospital!. Everyone, including yourselves, was very kind and helpful and the medical service was excellent. We now tell everyone how good the people in Crete are! I am now in good health again. We hope to come next year and to visit Zaros and will use your service. Many thanks again.
Terence (April 2016)

Thanks to Manousakis staff for interesting tour and excellent wines.
Henri & Jaana from sunny Hania harbour (April 2016)

Thank you. We had a lovely time at Manousakis Winery. Thank you so much for all your help. Best wishes (and now regrettably back in the UK),
Tessa (October 2015)

Hi Yiannis, Thanks for your email. The trip to Crete was great. We got a very warm welcome at Natalia’s Houses and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. All the arrangements worked very well. Many thanks for your assistance with this. Crete is indeed a very beautiful island! Kind regards
Peter (October 2015)

Dear Yiannis, Everything was beautiful, we had the most perfect time in Crete, and hope to visit there again very soon. It was well beyond our expectations. I hope all is well with you, and thank you for all of your help once again. Best regards,
Grace (October 2015)

Kalimera Giannis - thank you for your email. We had the most amazing visit to Crete. The Kionia Apartments were lovely - we didn't leave Agia Fotini for the whole week! We loved the taverna and sunbathed on the beach. The balcony gave a great view for watch storms and stars and at the end of the week, xxx proposed to me on the beach in the moonlight! It could not have been more perfect! There's only one comment - when we arrived we weren't sure whether we needed to phone the owner to get the key for the apartment. Lots of other visitors arrived asking the same question. It might be a good idea to be clear about that in your emails. We can't wait to come back sometime!! With thanks and best wishes
Steph (October 2015)

Hi Yiannis! We were most satisfied with your help, and enjoyed our stay at Hotel Porto Loutro very much. We will definitely contact you whenever we would be needing this kind of service again. Thank you
Monica (October 2015)

Good evening Yiannis. We are very pleased with Cretetravel.com. Everytime we have needed your help, you have given us excellent service. Best Regards from
Astrid and Age, Norway (October 2015)

Kalimera Yiannis, everything was wonderful in Crete, even better than I expected (which is because I wasn´t there for ten years and didn´t remember how unique Crete is with the hospitality and easy lifestyle of the people, the beautiful landscape, good food...) Almost missed my flight back, and somehow hoped that would happen, but I´ll return asap best regards
Markus (October 2015)

Dear Yiannis, I wanted to tell you that we had a wonderful day! We enjoyed our Sailing, Fishing & BBQ activity so much. They were so nice. The lunch was awesome. We swam and saw dolphins. Thank you so much for setting that up for us. Kind regards,
Colleen (September 2015)

I just wanted to say we had a great time in Crete. The house was great, in a lovely area. We enjoyed visiting the beaches, and Knossos, and the waterpark, and the wonderful Greek food. Thanks for your help with our holiday. Best
James (August 2015)

Dear Yiannis, Hope you are well? I just wanted to pass on to you our sincere thanks for the wonderful trip (Premium Sailing Trip with BBQ) you organised for us yesterday. We could not have hoped for a better day or wished for better company. Both Nikos and Manos( I hope I spelled his name correctly) were very gracious hosts and guides. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We can not thank you or them enough for the helping to make our trip a truly memorable one. Please pass on our sincere thanks to them both. With warmest regards!
Lynn (August 2015)

Dear Yiannis, We are back in our small but beautiful country. First of we want to say one giant THANK YOU! Thank you for the best place in Crete (Kionia Apartments place). Thank you for all your help (rent-car, Apartments, advice...). Best regards all many success in your life and job.
Mira & Nacko (August 2015)

Hi Yiannis, Would just like to say a big thank you. Our trip (Sailing, Fishing & BBQ) was fantastic and the two guys on board were great.
Lorraine (July 2015)

Hello,The activity was fantastic. The 4wd up to the vineyards was beautiful and the driver was very knowledgable and friendly. The tasting was delicious and the tour at the Manousakis Winery was very intersting. It was very nice having a small group (~6) of people on the tour.
Brendan (August 2015)

Dear Yiannis, We had a superb time in Crete…you were right Cretan hospitality was lovely. The Elounda Solfez Villas we stayed in was beautiful…clean, spacious, fabulous pool and fresh produce in the fridge. Thank you for the suggestion of the Villa and for organising all of our details so well…we very much appreciated your help and guidance. Cheers
Joanna and Chris (july 2015)

Hello! Thank you, everything went fine and we enjoyed visiting Manousakis Winery. Special thanks to our guide because she was so kindness to our children! Best Regards,
Jukka and Katri L. (July 2015)

Kalimera Yannis, We enjoyed very much our holidays in crete. It was very nice the est and the west area of the island are very different but they are both intersted. We enjoy very much Natalia's house : many thanks for your suggestion it's a lovely place with nice people. Crete is a beautifull island a place where we would like to return.( we enjoyed very much Chania and the botanic park). Good night
Nathalie (June 2015)

Kalimera Yiannis, I just wanted to say thank you, we had a fabulous holiday in your lovely village (Makrigialos). The apartment  at Akrotiri Apartments was perfect, the owners delightful, we ate well, drank well, enjoyed your lovely beaches, walked down the gorges, ate ice cream and just relaxed. What a lovely country and what kind and generous people. I do hope things work out for you as a country, I know how difficult it is at the moment. We hope to come back next year, I will be in touch. Kind regards from cloudy England.
Sue (June 2015)

Kalimera Yianni, It was a long and beautiful day. Everything was fine and just like I expected. Our guide with the Landrover was the perfect guide, told us many interesting things and make us laugh. We use the opportunity to take a look at the Chania Old Town. It is a very good place too and I suppose that it will be our next choice when we come back. We are leaving today and I want to thank you for your cooperation. Hope to see each other in person next time. Keep up the good work.
Rumen (June 2015)

Dear Giannis, Well, the sun has arrived in Munich in the meantime too! We had a fantastic time at Agia Fotini and were very enamoured by Kionia Appartments. I would recommend them to friends anytime! Can't really think of any improvements, so I guess there's no bigger compliment than that. Apart from coming back of course, which I guess we will! Thank you again.
Jacky (June 2015)

Sunny Kalimera dear Gianis,Today is really sunny day ... some exception for this country. We are missing already sea, sun and special hospitably Crete/Greece atmosphere . Everything was perfect. To be honest it was better than expected - I like such nature, mountains, this special smell of soil and wormwood in the air... It was just great!! Special thanks to Sofia and Team in Porto Loutro Hotel. they are simply the best !!! - please forward my/our (from my wife especially) best greetings to the girls. I hope to visit Greece very soon - depend on vacation and small amount of coins in our pockets... Thank you very much. Best Regards from still sunny but cold (20°C... max) Cologne. Cheers.
Alex (June 2015)

Giannis We had a wonderful time. Travelling around, we were swimming in the Sea on the South Coast and walking in the snow in the Mountains. Such a contrast. It was like having several holidays as one! Keramos: Just as good as last time, welcomed back like old friends. Agia Fotini: A special place, like Crete 25 years ago before any big tourist development. Great Taverna. Delina: Luxury at a special price. Everyone there was so nice. A perfect place to start the walk up Mount Ida (Psiloritis). They made us a picnic, we set off early but never made the summit due to the snow fall. The Ideon Cave entrance was full of snow and closed. I did get some great photographs. Will try again next year to get to the summit. Our plan is to be back in Crete next May. Sadly I don't think we will be able to visit again this year. May 1st 2016 is Easter in Greece? This would be a good time to visit I think? I would welcome any recommendations. Best Regards
Ian (May 2015)

Kalimera Giannis! I'm great - hope you are too! We did have a GREAT trip in Crete. The arrangements in Xerocampos were beautiful. Our only issue was in reaching Giota. It was our issue - we didn't have a phone that worked in Crete, and were unable to get a phone card. Mary, the lady at the mini-market was kind enough to let us call with her phone. It wasn't a big problem, but it happens. We did laugh, because the gentleman who came to stay in the next unit - did the same as us - came to the units, looking to see if anything was available at the place. We sent him off to see Mary! So, maybe a suggestion would be a realtors lockbox or something similar for a key. The accommodations (Krinakia Villas) were beautiful, the food was great, Giota was wonderful. Communications with you was great (thanks for all the notes, and suggestions). We had great weather, empty beaches. Everything was perfect. If you have a mailing list - feel free to add me. We will be back! .
Clark (May 2015)

Hello and thanks for the message. We had a wonderful stay in Crete - loved it. Both hotels (Sitia Bay Hotel) were excellent, very different but each good in their own way. My husband was very impressed with Crete as he had never visited it before. I hope we will be back sometime in the future, thanks
Kay (May 2015)

Dear Giannis, Thank you very much for your message. We had a very nice time in Crete, we spent 10 relaxing days, enjoying your beautiful country. We had two days of rain in Paleochora, which seems quite unusual from what people told us, but this did not prevent us to walk along the beach and in the mountain. The two hotels were really nice, we particularly enjoyed Milia, for its peacefulness, for the non car policy, which allowed the kids to play freely on the road and in the garden. The food was also very good and unusual. Many thanks for organising the booking for us and for your help, Very best wishes from a grey luxembourg,
Virginie (May 2015)

Kalimera Yiannis, Just to let you know we had a wonderful time in Crete. All your arrangements, from taxi, to car hire, to hotel reservations & directions went very smoothly. Our room at The Belmondo hotel was great, lovely views from the huge terrace. Vasso at Natalia's houses was so welcoming & it was good to have the space of the Lydia House. At Elia Inn we were upgraded to a room with a big terrace - what a beautiful place, the views were stunning & everyone was so friendly. We had some fantastic food (why are Cretans not very fat - the portions were huge!) and did some great walks - loved the wild flowers & the beautiful mountain scenery. Oh & it was sunny too! We will be back!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your help & suggestions.
Vicki Shore (May 2015)

I just wanted to tell you that our trip to Villa Kerasia and Roustika Village at Abelos Villas on Crete was wonderful. With Kind Regards,
Erika V.M.(December 2014)

Hi,I am sorry for being so long to answer your questionnary. We've been very satisfied by the hotel in Porto Lutro 2. We ve particlarly appreciated our roof top room. Moreover, we really enjoyed the way people welcame us. We thank you for everything and be sure that we will recommand you to our friend, and if we are plannig another trip in crete or grece, we'll contact you. Bests regards,
Anita G. (December 2014)

This email is a little later than we intended but the airport strike in Athens made it necessary for us to leave on 26 November instead of 27 November as planned. We did as much sightseeing as we could in just one and a half days. A short time but we saw a lot of the important ruins, the Acropolis museum and even managed to do some shopping. We had a wonderful stay at your villa (Fabrica Traditional House) in Anopolis, Heraklion. We really enjoyed being amongst the local people in a village surrounded by olive groves and wonderful views. The villa itself was very comfortable and well equipped which made it so nice to spend time there.Thank you very much for having us to dinner on the last night and allowing us to experience your delicious food and Cretan hospitality. We will leave Frankfurt in a few hours for Australia and will take wonderful memories of you both and our Greek holiday. Best wishes
Helen & Peter T. (November 2014)

Great hotel (Villa Kerasia Inn) and Babis was fantastic host – even helped bump start our car when we had a flat battery. Thanks.
Jeremy (October 2014)

We had a lovely holiday thank you. The accommodation (Natalia's Houses) suited us very well, we found Vasso very friendly and welcoming, the climate was perfect. We hadn’t quite appreciated just how large Crete is, so although we planned to travel quite a lot, in the end we spent quite a lot of time on the beach at Almerida! The tavern in Douliana was particularly good. We’d love to come back and explore a different area. Best wishes,
Carol (October 2014)

Kalimera Yiannis, thank you for asking me how our stay (at Akti Rooms) had been on Crete. Actually, it was great! Even though a little bit expensive, as we spent 2.5 weeks as "individual vacation" an not -as many tourists do- all-inclusive vacation. But it was worth it...
Volker (August 2014)

A good afternoon to you! I can only thank you for all your help with our trip in Crete at Villa Kerasia Inn! I was On call in the week leading up to travelling, I could not have had a good a time as I did without your approachability and organisation. I speak for both my partner and myself in saying a big thank you.! I've already recommended you to our friends here at home! Everything was perfect! Kind regards and hope you are well!
Louise (August 2014)

Kalimera & thanks Yiannis. We had a fantastic time in Loutro thank you - everything was wonderful! We certainly plan to return - maybe to the Old Phoenix or Marmara in the Spring. Best wishes
Jane (October 2014)

Hello Yannis' The experience was very good. the hotels Cozy and comfortable. A Little improvement : suggestions of boating experience. We sure will visit again. next time in Northern Greece. Thessaloniki and the North. Thanks for all the effort,
Barak (September 2014)

Dear Yannis, Our vacations were great and we enjoyed our stay at Youphoria Villas very very much. Everything was very nice. We think to come back again but we do not know yet when. Also the service via crete travel was very convenient. The webpage is very well done, modern and helpful. Many thanks!
Helena K. (August 2014)

Yiannis and everyone there, My time in your country was fabulous!   Thank you all for your assistance in making my trip a smashing success!  I got home last month.  This was my first opportunity to write to you. The Greek people are the happiest, poilitest, and nicest people of any place I've ever been too! I wasn't too crazy about Knossis, it was a bit too much like Disneyland for my tastes but the rest of the island was out-of-this-world!  We all have wonderful memories.  The average Cretean (is it spelled Cretean?) was genuinely warm and friendly, not just sales-friendly as is the case with so many other destinations. The beaches were clean and beautiful, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Aside from a flat tire, nothing went wrong. However, we got the flat in front of a small Taverne.  The woman who owned it served a great feast and she insisted we let her son change our tire while we ate.  What a wonderful place Crete is! When we left Crete, we traveled through Germany and Amsterdam.  After Greece, it was a terrible let down!  Their goods were overpriced and the people were dispassionately polite at best. Next year, it's Greece and only Greece!Thank you all so very much. - I love the Greek people!
Ron K. Colorado USA (October 2014)

Dear Yiannis, Sorry for not replying you in time as I just came back from the whole trip to China. Yes, we had a very nice time in Chania and really enjoyed the trip at Manousakis Winery! We love the beautiful city of Chania, the splendid scene on the mountain top, and especially the nice people in Chania including you, Manos and all the other ones we met there. Really wish we could spend more days there... we definitely will come back to Chania again in the future. Thanks again for your help during the reservation! Wish you a prosperous business in the future! Best wishes,
Xiaoya (October 2014)

Kalimera Yiannis! Efharistó polí!! We enjoyed our honeymoon in Greece a lot! And between you and I....my wife and I enjoyed Crete a lot more than Mykonos and Santorini! Thank you for all your help! Hopefully we will be able to go to Greece soon again. With warmest regards,
Jacques (October 2014)

Hi Yiannis,Lovely to hear from you. We are back in the UK and are missing Crete already! Below is my feedback, I'm happy to be quoted on your websites if you want to use it. We greatly enjoyed our excursion to Mile Cave with Alexis from Safari Adventures. He was an excellent guide, and was very knowledgeable about the mountains and Cretan culture. We had a truly memorable day, thank you for helping us to arrange it, even at fairly short notice. I don't think there's much I would change, as it really was perfect for us. It may be worth advising people to wear full trousers, not shorts - the local plants are spiky! Thanks again, we really loved it,
Rachel & Dominic (September 2014)

Kalimera Yiannis, It was the first time we were in Crete and everythings was very good (accomodations, car, food, sea). We enjoy a lot (I like to swim and when I was in Konia apartment every morning I wake up early in the morning (7.00) and I swim for an hour it was a unique experience, the water was turquoise and so clear  ....) We don't have any problem with the car. I already suggested the place and the location you suggested me. Thanks a lot
Paolo (September 2014)

Hi Yiannis, I'm very good thanks & I hope you are too!! I'm soo glad I found you (Crete travel!) on the internet but only by fluke (luck) as I'd been searching for accommodation &  travel information about Crete for a long time because I had little knowledge of the island. Regarding the car rental, We were soo impressed with the personal service we received when we went to pick up the hire car as we often experience a very long queue in hiring a car & end up meeting a miserable, grumpy person ! But your Budget lady was lovely !! As for the accommodation in Chania (Spanzia Hotel) that was Just amazing !!! Chania was absolutely gorgeous ! Chaina is a gorgeous place as it reminded us of Venice. The accommodation  & breakfast was fit for a king !  The staff were also fantastically fabulously helpful. The whole of our holiday we found the Greek people soo generous & friendly. We popped in for a drink in a local bar & they wouldn't let us go as they kept generously giving us home made food & wine & we were trying to communicate with them (poorly) !  We found this special little after we had visited the Olive oil vineyard Biolea, just past the oldest Olive Tree !!  It was typical of the Generous Crete hospitality !! It would be soo good to visit Crete again with your help !! Thanks soo much Yiannis for helping us enjoy a fabulous holiday !! Hope your business is successful! Best wishes!
Alison (September 2014)

Kalimera Yiannis, We had a fantastic holiday at Thalori. It is an amazing place! The car was good and everything went well. Thanks for all your help & when we visit Crete again I will certainly contact you. Regards
Matt (September 2014)

Dear Yianni,
We have returned from our Crete this Tuesday, and I just wanted to let you know how very much we enjoyed our trip to Loutro and our stay at Porto Loutro II. We had such a good time and got inspired by the incredible beauty of this most lovely spot, including the ferry trip with from which we adored the splendid, magnificent views of the coast line. Also, we were so delighted with our dinner at the Stratis Taverna. Thank you so much, Yianni, for having assisted us with our stay at Loutro. We wish you a most enjoyable rest of the summer season and send you our warmest regards,
Luzia and my sister Monika (August 2014)

Having booked through CreteTravel.com and Giannis Gonianakis, made me feel like visiting an old friend on Crete. Giannis is a a perfect host and made every minute of our stay on Crete impeccable. A great car waited for us upon arrival and we booked three locations through Giannis: Kionia ApartmentsArtemis Studios and Lato Boutique Hotel in Heraklion. We were very suprised and happy to get an upgrade in all accomodations. Everyone knows Giannis in person and seems to be very glad with his personal attention. This gave us a very nice and safe feeling. Our car was picked up in the last accomodation, which Giannis advised and which was very convenient.  I highly recommand CreteTravel.com whenever your visit on Crete needs care and a warm touch of hospitality! Thank you so much! We'll be back!!
Nicolette (August 2014)

Hi Yiannis
Thank you for arranging our hire car – it was perfect and all went to plan. We stayed near Matala and saw Archelon’s work with the loggerhead turtle nests, amazing! I’m sure we shall be back next year!
Fiona (August 2014)

Hi George,
So good to hear from you.  We too have often recounted our visit with you and the other wonderful Cretans you introduced us to. Never before in our travels have we met such warm and passionate strangers, who made us feel so welcomed; no longer strangers. It was a  joy to talk so openly and share about the topics that make us all citizens of this wonderful world.  It was truly a memorable experience, one that we will always treasure. Now we are back to our normal life and trying to stay caught up. LOL
Hope all is good in your life and your family as well.
Sincerely and thanks so very much
Penny and Doug (June 2014)

It was another great adventure to Crete. Staying at Villa Kerasia is always a pleasure. We came in contact with many of the stonemasons/artists and enjoyed seeing their work and also to go to the local arrangement at the village Kerasia. I do recommend both Villa Kerasia and your company to anyone who wanders about what I have experienced in Crete ( most of them only know Chania/Platanias) We also liked Loutro very well - but it is no possible to competit with Babis when it comes to hospitality.
I will be back in Crete also in the future.
Fredrik (June 2014)

Dear Yiannis, the house was even better than expected, so many nice details. Breakfast in the fridge and the drinks were a very friendly welcoming gesture. We loved the house and the location so much that we definitely want to come back. Most likely next year in June. Have a good Monday, best regards!
Christine (July 2014)

Hello Yannis,  Sorry for this late reply. I hope you are well and basting in the warm Greek sun. I wish I could return there again tomorrow. My holiday in Crete went smoothly. Every move I made was what I expected.  The island is beautiful.  And the people are so friendly. I had a wonderful stay at the Porto Del colombo Hotel . Thanks to you for choosing it for me.  The people were amazing.  Practically I left with a heavy heart. It was like leaving dear friends behind. I will definitely return to Greece. There are so many places yet to see and explore.   I will also certainly seek your advice when I return. I was really pleased with your wise advice.  Anytime you wish to visit Ireland, let me know.  I can suggest some places for you to visit snd stay. Keep in touch and send me news from Greece whenever you can. Each time I see your email, it brings a smile to my face. Wishing you a great summer.
Truly, Jenny (July 2014)

We hope that you are well and enjoying the weekend too. Our visit to Crete was wonderfully successful. Everything was absolutely perfect thank you so very much!!! If we ever return, we'll happily be in touch again. All the best. Thanks,
Andy (July 2014)

Dear Yiannis, our stay at the Atrion Hotel was very good, we enjoyed the night in the big and nice room and also the good breakfast. A place to come back for next time...
CHeers to you,
Pascale (July 2014)

Dear Yiannis, So sorry to be so long in replying to your recent email, we have been really busy since we returned home! We had a lovely time in Crete, made so easy by yourself in the help and planning before we arrived. Everything was just as we expected, which is nice, no nasty surprises ! And so gorgeous, the view of Chania harbour from the roof terrace at Pandora Suites, I think, was the best part of the holiday. We would certainly have no hesitation in planning our next trip to Crete /Greece with you or recommending you to others. Thank you so much for making our holiday very enjoyable.Best wishes,
Helen & Philip (July 2014)

Dear Yiannis, I just had to write to thank you for all your help and advice regarding accommodation for our whistlestop tour of Crete. Each place we stayed had it's own ambience and was perfect for that stage of the trip - from the private beach, sea view terrace and all natural spa at St Nicolas Bay Resort, to the authentic, inventive exquisite food and stunning design (and goody bag!) of Kapsaliana Village and the quirky-cool charm, house guest welcome and picture-perfect location of Mama Nena Charming hotel. On a practical note each property was immaculately presented, well organised and efficient, with charming and knowledgable staff. We can't wait to return to Crete - maybe later this year.
Laura  (June 2014)

Kalimera dear Yiannis,Thank you for your kind email. We had a great time, very glad we rented the car, the best part was driving around to see the beautiful island, loved the gorges! Nothing you could do better, your service is impeccable, thank you Yiannis. I am sure we will go again, we were planning to after the first day there. You will be the first person I contact for help. Have a wonderful day dear Yiannis.Warmest regards,
Marie

Everything was wonderful...my only regret is that I didn't stay longer in Crete before heading over to Mykonos. I had a much better time in Crete. Thank you for everything. Many thanks!
Leonor and Andrea

Thank you for sending us your beautiful website and emails.  We planned a trip in Crete about 10 years ago and had to cancel it at the last minute due to illness.  Your wonderful website, photos, and descriptions, make us want to fulfill that dream in the near future.  Please keep sending the e-mail suggestions.  This is one of the best travel websites I know of anywhere (and I am the author of one myself!), keep up the wonderful work.
John

Dear Yiannis,
I still feel guilty that I never answered your review about our holidays in Crete (in July 2012).
You helped us find the perfect location according to our wishes, and booked the perfect village Paleochora, with the right accommodation.
When we experienced some problems in the hotel,( not working airconditioning, not functioning fridge), you helped to solve it, completely to our satisfaction.
Paleochora really answered to everything we looked for in our holidays, we continue to look for more 'Paleochora-locations', while on holiday to other destinations.
So, although very late,  thanks very much, for taking such good care of us.
Whenever we want to book another vacation in Crete , we will certainly contact you.
Kind regards,
Marlies V.A.

A big thank you for your message, we were delighted with our trip to Crete in September: friendliness of the people, archaeological sites, landscapes, great food, beautiful Orthodox monasteries, beautiful beaches….!!! Since our return we have been very busy and are sorry to respond so late... Notos  apartments are very well located with a beautiful view and we had a nice step near Triopetra (this is particularly quiet in September) The traditional village Milia is truly a unique experience that we really appreciated ! We will not fail to advise your site to our friends who would go to Crete and thank you again for all your advice.
Best regards
H et MC D.

The hotel On the Rocks was just perfect, service and location was excellent. Hopefully I will be back in Crete sometime next year and will revert then.
Tom M.B

Yiannis we had a fabulous time in Crete, and I really thank you for your help. I will try to send you a link to my photos. The weather was unbelievable, the sights magnificent, the people so friendly and helpful. It is a fantastic destination and we hope to return once we have saved up again!. Our favorites were Loutro and Lissos, ChaniaRethymno, all the little villages, Heraklion...oh it's too hard to have favourites!
Thank you for your help.
Jane

Thanks for emailing. I should have written to you without being prompted. I certainly intended to but, well, you know how it is, always too many other things to do. Our trip to Crete this summer was probably amongst the best holidays we have ever taken.  We had not used CreteTravel before so we were apprehensive. In fact, Kerassia, and its delighful host, Babis, was wonderful.  Villa Kerassia has been converted to a hotel with great flair and imagination by Babis and his hospitality is generous and unassuming.  We had some bad luck whilst there when the power (which also pumps the water supply) was cut by the authorities without any notice to Babis.  We was embarrassed and apologetic and yet it was no fault of his.
I would certainly recommend CreteTravel again (in fact have already done so to a colleague) and we intend returning next year to explore the last remaining part of the island we have not visited, the east end, the Lassithi, Sitia, Spinalonga and the Dicteon Mountains.
Colin and Lesley

Dear Yiannis,
We had beautiful days in Crete and certainly your help and tips contributed to this. The hotels were pretty satisfactory and well-located, the staff gave us all information we needed. In conclusion, we enjoyed a lot our visit to all places, museums, beaches, and restaurants.I hope to have another opportunity to come back and visit some places that we were not able to do. Your services were absolutely helpful.
Fernando B.

Have a nice and sunny day!Thank you for organising our holiday, we have just returned to cold UK after a lovely two weeks in beautiful CreteMochlos Mare was the most welcoming place to stay, Panayotis and his wife are most generous and kind hosts.  We loved staying there.Sitea Bay was a real treat, a very comfortable apartment and lovely position, right on the beach. The staff were extremely obliging and helpful with lots of good information available.  We look forward to a return visit. All in all, we have had a most enjoyable time on your beautiful island, thank you

Hi Yanis,
having a wonderfull time. Crete is really beautifull and the food and weather superb!! Thank you once again for all your help.
Wendy

Good morning Yiannis,
I was actually going to write before receiving your email. I wanted to thank you so much for your assistance in making my visit to Crete so enjoyable.
Thank you for keeping in touch with me even after finalizing the booking. Apart frombthe mixed up and misunderstanding with the booking fee at porto del colombo I only have good and positive feedback to pass on. I guess no amount of money is worth ruining such a great holiday in crete. I would no doubt spread the word amongst friends who wish to visit the beautiful crete.
Once again, thank you so much for your great efforts and assistance.
Regards,
Nicole

Ciao Yanni

ciao

Kalimera Dear Yannis,
Thank you for your email.
We toured the island, it was a little short, but we will see what we have not had time to do.
Our stay in Crete was very great !!! We also visited the Cyclades. Greece offers a multitude of sensations and incredible beauty.
What us the most was the hospitality, the diversity of landscapes (mountains, valleys, ports,...), beautiful beaches (Elafonissi, Ámbelos ...), hiking (Gorges Samaria, the Death Valley, Chryssi Island, Spinalonga...), the quality of the food (octopus!!!! fried fish, tzatziki, mashed split peas, eggplant puree ...), we had a great time.
I'd return next year, there are so many things to discover.
The Villa  Kerassia was beautifu,l Babis is a charming and very hospitable person. The room was just as beautiful, restored with taste. The pool is very nice to go too, with views of olive groves time. Breakfast is the best I've eaten. Products were thin and tasty. Our first night was a delight!
Thank you so much for your follow and your site helped me to create my stay.
A soon.
Good evening.
Nelly Glatt

Kalispera Yiannis,
Returned home safely yesterday.  What a perfect holiday in Sunny Crete.  All the arrangements worked well.  The Lato and Porto Loutro Hotel were wonderful, peaceful and comfortable.  Thanks.Kind regards
Jenifer

Dear Yiannis,
The house was wonderful, the neighborhood charming, and Nikki was most enjoyable. The car was very nice. We got lost several times (sometimes due to the grass growing over the sign so we did not see it), but we always got out and asked people who surprisingly often spoke English. Or my Greek understood enough so we got by just fine.
Thank you for your help with the car. It was a wonderful trip.
Efharisto,
Marcia

Dear Yainnis, We are just back from Your wonderful land!
My wife and me enjoied very much our stay in Paleochora: unfortunately too short to have the opportunity to take a full knoledge of the sorroundings.
This can be a good excuse to be back another time!!!
The "on the rocks" Hotel was perfect as people and position.
Thank You very much for all Your assistance. We'll keep apart Your e-mail for our next trip in Crete.
Our best regards
Francesca & Carlo

Everything was great thanks. We had a wonderful time. I must make special mention of Poppy at Palazzo Apartments. She is genuinely a warm and welcoming host.
Thanks for all your help. We will certainly use your site again. Please continue to update and work on the advice section. It is things like this that separate your site from others.
Thanks

Kalimera Yiannis
We had an excellent holiday with a very good car, Fiat Punto. No complaints at all. We met Elephteria in Vrysses as usual for the change at Chora Sfakion and all went well.  Next year we plan to come in the spring and will be in touch. If possible we would like to fly into Chania. Does your company operate from there as well?
Best wishes
Beryl and Brian, USA

Kalimera Yannis,
... from a cloudy and chilly Canada - we just had our first sign of snow this morning.
Yes, every minute of our three week trip around Greece was a success.  Better than could be expected: your country is blessed.
We particularly enjoyed Crete, and would certainly think of returning in a few years.
The car rental you arranged for us out of Iraklion was very useful and a good price.
If we return to Greece we will contact you.  Please do not send us encouraging messages; no matter how much you would love us to return, we will do so on our own terms!
Yours truly,
David

We are all impressed with the way you have dealt with our various requests and would like to say a big "THANK YOU". All good wishes, G'day Roger
Audrey

Still 'recovering' from our Crete travelling! Thank you for being most efficient - all three hotels were well organised, thanks to you our holiday was smooth and enjoyable.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I must commend you folks on a wonderful WEB site (Cretetravel.com). It is by far the best travel WEB site I have come across and I look at a lot of them around the world. When we come to Crete your WEB site will certainly be the travel guide that we use. Keep up the good work.
Regards,
Fraser B.Rea

We wanted to write to you and thank you for your help and suggestions.
All three places were marvellous. Komis is so close to the sea, Elia is a gem and Lato was just the right place to stay in Heraklion.
We used a lot of the information provided on your homepage which is most informative.
We will recommend your site to everyone who wants to travel to Crete.
Best wishes,
Albrecht and Anna

Very good. Has everything I've been looking for. I've been to over 10 countries in Europe for holidays and working, and have usually found any information I need on the internet but this is by far the best. Well done!!
Padraic Leader, Ireland

Of all the sites that we have visited in planning this trip, yours is by far the best. We look forward to finding just the right place to stay on our visit with your help.
Clement Plamondon

Many thanks for sorting out the car, arrival details and the free upgrade...
I wish life was always as easy as dealing with CreteTravel.com.
Again, thanks
Debbie

Hello CreteTravel.com. What a great site! Your site has given me even more ideas of where I would like to go and what I would like to do. Thanks very much indeed!
Eva, Netherlands

Thank you for suggesting and organizing our stay at two delightful hotels...They were spot on and we greatly enjoyed our time at both.
Thanks. Best wishes,
John Marzillier and family

Thank you very much for your email and I will in fact contact the email address you gave me regarding flights.
Your website was extremely helpful and well thought out. All the information we need is on your website so I have added it to My Favourites on my computer - which will enable me to refer to it regarding places, hotels etc.  Thank you for your prompt reply which tells me that you are an efficient and well planned company and I hope that I will be dealing with you in the not too distant future.
Best regards,
J. Binney.

Thanks for the tip on your CreteTravel.com website. It's beautiful. Possibly the nicest, best designed, most interesting and easiest to read that I've seen.
Arthur Lynn, Great Journeys.

Very well laid out site, my wife and I have been to Crete many times so we know (and love!) the island very well, but we found your site very interesting and informative. Will return many times!!
Steve and Christine, Crawley

I wanted to tell you how wonderful your site is! I have been wandering the internet for a couple of months arranging our vacation in Crete, when I had finalized everything, I found your site which had all the information I had spent hours looking for!
Susan Brett, Jerusalem

I wish I had found your site sooner!!!!
Christina Helms

Your website is one of the best travel pages I've visited. I am betting your newsletter is equally informative. Please sign me up as we prepare for our October trip to Crete. Thanks.
E Hiatt

We are already back in cold London from our holiday in Crete. We had a great time. One week is not enough because there is so much to see. We would like to say that we were really impressed with your website, as your descriptions and pictures of Keramos hotel were very accurate: what we see on your website is what we get! The other information on your website (area etc.) was very useful.
The Keramos Hotel was very nice, very clean and the owners were very friendly. Delicious and copious breakfast, as advertised!
Thanks again for your assistance.
Best regards, Nathalie Boulay

Thank you for all your assistance. Everything was wonderful! We especially liked the Elounda Gulf Suites - I just wish we had more time there! The restaurant at the hotel was excellent along with the staff.
Thanks again, my first trip to Greece will be a very memorable one,
Kristy Loucopoulos.

Hi Roger,
Many thanks for your email, that answers all my questions. Your website has been a great help too, and may I say the best one of its kind that I have found so far!

Sinead O'Toole, Dublin
You have a great site.
D James, Fun trips Live

Excellent! Because you keep the site simple and light (graphic files), its works fast -- so much better than other frustratingly cluttered and heavy sites.
Thank you!
One suggestion: I would move the temperature window on the Weather page to the top of the page: easier for a simple temp check, no need to scroll down. [ has been done! ]
Israel

I stumbled on your website on the Usenet. Good work, very sensibly presented; the small maps are excellent for finding one's way around and the hotel/restaurant tips seem to be good too.
Bo Lundin, Sweden

Very good website. Lots of good information, about weather, places to visit, maps etc
Thank you
Ann Parkin, England

Excellent Newsletter, so well worth the wait, can't wait for the next issue, keep me posted.

Very good website. Informative and descriptive. Particularly interesting for me as I am moving there on a permanent basis next year after 30 years of travelling there. It is my favourite place in the world and I have done an extensive amount of travelling in my life. There is nothing like Crete and its people plus the amazing hospitality, weather and wonderful way of doing things!
Judy, London

Roger - many thanks for your informative (and very witty!) response to my queries on Crete.
Many congrats on your site, if only others would do the same.

Fiona Turner, Wicklow

Dear Yiannis,
I'm glad to tell you that everything was perfect, especially the hotel On the Rocks Hotel! I hope to come to Crete again as soon as possible.
Thank you for all!
Elena Pulici

Kalispera,
Just want to say that your website is one of the best-written, informative ones I have ever visited for travel or anything else. Full of good tips and useful info and no frills. A pleasure to dig into!
Mary

Good Evening Yiannis,
The service we received was brilliant and I would definitely use you again should we come back to Crete.

Good points -
The car was collected in a clean condition and quite a new model.
Your emails before we're very welcoming.
The whole arrival process was very time efficient.
I can't really think of anything that needed improving.
Oh one last thing - some of the brown roads on the map included were close to being unusable by the model we ordered. A hint would have been useful to avoid (we did love the adventure though).
Many Thanks,
E.K.

Dear Yiannis,
our holidays are now finished since end of July and we really thank you for your help and professionalism during our trip in Creta.
Everything was fine and you manage to find solution that was in line with our needs.
we will certainly use your services if we will turn back in Creta.
Best Regards,
Jane G.

Thanks. It was great. Our hotel was just what we wanted - quiet, great views and great food.
Dave

Roger did assist me to complete my reservation; your services were perfect as well as the visit itself. We have not encountered any problems at all and the apartment was as described, clean and well fitted with all the necessary amenities for our two weeks holiday. The owner was polite and helpful. We loved the place, and the kids enjoyed it a lot. I will probably return, but sometime this fall since I will be involved with some personal business which will require a lot of time (we are moving to Perth, WA). I will be definitely contacting you for a reservation.
